I can get it on the alternator and main fly wheel below,do I need to loosen the bolt that holds on the higher tensioner pully aswell..?? ive got all the the info from the todo bit on here ive downloaded a while back that the late GREAT Physician put up,but cant find how to loosen the tensioner...PLEASE HELP need the car on road for xmas...By the way HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR TO ALL....

you must loosen the bolt in centre of the tensioner pulley for the alternator then the adjuster bolt should free up and work. This is a pig to get to properly, either a super low profile socket & wrench, or an offset spanner is required. Once loose its dead easy.
Same is true for the PS/AC tensioner pulley at the bottom of engine.

AH just as I thought, cheers for that...

Don't suppose anyone knows what size the bolt is in the center of the tensioner pulley..?? as ive tried a 13 no luck and a 14 seems to not grip the head...Don't want to keep messing with it so I round the head...Any help would be great cheers

Because it's awkward to get something on it, I think it gets rounded off quite often. I had success with the ratchet end of a 14mm ratchet spanner as the inside edges of the ratchet ring are more angular (sharper edges) than a normal spanner or socket. I swapped the nut out with another 14mm one, possibly from the other belt tensioner.
