This has just come up on ebay, looked promising and I was going to go and have a look but then looked back at the MOT history and saw a fail from two years ago...Offside Rear Inner Vehicle structure has excessive corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of the body mountings arch corroded (6.1.B.2)
Sounds horrific, but should it be enough to put me off?

That's probably the closing panel on the sills but may be part of the chassis. It doesn't have the correct fog lights so may indicate front end bump or just someone who didn't like the twins
That fail could be the rear subframe mount to chassis. Its a problem area that's not easy to see. I guess it must have been repaired to pass a subsequent MOT.

Hmmm...just makes me wonder the state of the rest of the car. Looks decent on the whole though.

Hmmm, pink coolant...
I had an advisory for corrosion a couple of years ago. But wasn't mentioned at the time, and an advisory he did tell me about wasn't on the sheet! The corrosion advisory did not reappear the following year. I think he may have clicked the wrong drop-down item!
The mot wouldn't put me off looking, but I would go to look with my eyes wide open.
There is some black paint on the seams of the turret tops too, but that could be anything from very minor to awful too.
what were your thought on it I talked to the dealer he said just suface rust don't want to travel three hours to look a pile of rust so any information would be appreciated thanks
I didn't go to view mate, on closer inspection of the pictures it looks pretty rough around the edges. I realised the other day I've been to see a different VR4 from that same seller. He had a trigger mauve one up for sale for around 4 grand a year or so ago. That car wasn't in great shape, so for the price I wouldn't expect anything special.
