I am looking for an automatic V6 Tourer (aka Estate).
Anybody owned one? Or have any comments/views? Good or bad.

The best car that Rover made in a good few years.
Unfortunately, it's still pretty bad IMO.
Are you able to expand on the above?

That's why K Seal was invented mainly for the K series engine
Head gaskets are prone to failure, wouldn't touch one with a barge pole. You also have to be well into retirement age and smoke a pipe to own one.:thumbsup:
Apparently, GHF does not apply to the V6 engine, especially with proper maintenance.
Although I have not driven either yet, I would be surprised if the performance was that much less than my Galant.
IIRC in Rover 75 with v6 engine, to change cam belt, is the engine out job, so could be costly if need replacement.
I've never owned a 75 but I have owned a Rover. I had it for about 6 months and it was the most miserable 6 months of car ownership I've experienced so far in my car driving life. It gave me problem after problem.
You will find bias, obviously, but I think you'll find the general opinion on Rovers is to steer clear.
If you want a change from what you have, I personally would look towards something like a Volvo as a good alternative. Although that's just my opinion.
You may have considered it already, but what about a Mondeo estate in V6 guise? Perhaps a Ghia X, or even an ST version?
I've not looked up any potential problems, but the Mundano has often wandered into my thought process!
Agree with Nev.
Although the older V6 ST's can be troublesome. A mate of my other half had a '00 model that was forever in the garage.
I'm pretty sure the newer one's are a bit more reliable however.
Passat TDI and get it reprogrammed= one fairly torquey motor, or Skoda VRS estate would be my choice.
Agree with Alex, Volvo estate with T5 in it.

I had a similar dilemma when my V6 died and ended up with it being a choice between a 535D estate or a Shogun. My budget was reasonable (15K). My options were limited as I wanted the same spec that I had with the V6-24. Not that easy once you start throwing Leather and Cruise control as an essential into the mix. Ended up with the Shogun and couldnt be happier. BUT and it is a big bBUT I do very limited mileage, 5 mile commute to work. I wouldnt want to own a Shogun and do any sort of mileage in one. I get 28-30mpg on a good day and thats AFTER a remap which aided the economy.

Yes, a Mondeo V6 is also on my list - but not many around for 52/53 reg.
My mileage for the last 2 years has been under 5,000 in TOTAL. However, that may increase this year. Hence minimal budget - about £2000 (max).
I assume my Galant is worth around £700?
With the unanimous feedback regarding MG/Rover, I would say best to listen to popular opinion.
For the kind of car you want, that's not a substantial budget.

Doing only ~ 2500 miles per year, it's probably borderline whether it 's worth running a car. :)

Saab yes good cars 9-3 or 9-5 i test drove 8 saabs new and old ive had my Saab for 1 mouth now loving it .
It's a big change from a Mitsubishi galant but you will love it
