But.... her being a new mum on maternity leave for a year, & with a daughter who is quite happy to watch her work !! I'm not sure.


Spoke to her today, & I'm amazingly impressed with her indginuity [sp ]

she scoures charity shops.... markets... auctions etc, & buys old leather coats etc . sounds cheapskate, but the leather from years ago is of a far higher grade than mass produced rubbish of today .

If she does want good quality new leather then claytons in chesterfield are just up the road from you.
They make the good stuff on site - they supply all the leather for international cricket balls
Buffalo/Horse/cow (they even have an elephant hide on display from years ago)
I dont know if they still sell direct to the public?

supply or quality is not the problem. in fact, nothing is the problem.

As I said, she is running a sort of 'cottage industry' & loving every minute of it, whilst bringing up my Ava.

In a way, It's the uniqueness & quality I was promoting. She is one talented girl :)

Could she make me some thing if I were to supply the leather?

Whilst on the subject of making things, does she have a pedestal machine or a shoe making machine of some kind?

Claytons actually came to her college a few years ago to promote their business & offer advice to the students !! offered free leather too :)

Hi there, Yes I did look at both links which is where I came to the conclusion she must have a sewing machine of some sort. Col. Just in case you aware, I have been involved with Leather for over 40 yrs and still enjoy it. Working with it that is.

Just an update,
So proud of my Becky :) as soon as Ava goes to nursery, Becky will pack in her part time jobs & make her bags full time !

She can make up to 10 per day! And they are selling really well..... keeping up with demand is her problem.

She has several regular customer..... some of whom request their own design, these sell for upwards of £ 200 !!
Most goe abroad still. 11 more to a regular customer in the US last week !
