Please need advice what to do.

Few weeks ago I bought Galant vr4 ralliart with engine failure. Quick decision car send to mechanic another engine bought from breaker (EBay). Took mechanic nearly 4 weeks to work out that donor engine is not working either ( he tried to turn it over and is something blocking it). Don’t know what he did but have a total non runner and 2 faulty engines. I called well known garage they want around £9000 for engine rebuild. Buying another engine after loosing around £1000 is just a scary thing.
I have seen Legnum in manual on EBay but with quite high mileage and apparently noisy lifters ( how true is it don’t know). For £2000 plus swap costs again not a wise investment.
Only reasonable thing at the moment is jerrycan with petrol and burn it.
What in your opinion it will be best move?

Sounds like a bit of a nightmare. Did he carry out a cambelt change before fitting as apart from that there is not a lot to stop it turning

I bought new kit so I believe he done it.

If he didn't align the cams correctly that would be a possible scenario for the engine not turning over

I just found fto with Legnum engine but manual just wondering if that can be a donor (my one is auto)

You can use it , you just need to swap your flywheel over from the old engine

Change of circumstances and need to sell it as have more urgent things to spend money on then this.
