Fixed bleed valve
Question is how do I undo this?
The previous owner of my vr4 installed a fixed bleed valve. I am looking to remove this for reliability/economy and the fuel cut reasons. This is my first turbo car and I'm not sure what to look for to fix this.

Depending on how stock your car is, there should be a red tipped hose attached to the black plastic elbow before the throttle body. The bleed valve will probably be installed on that hose. Sometimes that hose is removed from the elbow and the bleed valve is put in between. Without knowing how it was fitted it will be tricky to say exactly how to put it back to standard.

Engine is completely stock apart from the fixed bleed valve as far as I know. Will have a look

I followed it down and the only thing that looked out of the ordinary was this t-piece
Any suggestions on what to do next?

Appears factory, looks exactly the same on mine, af far as I know the bleed valve would be somewhere towards the top of that red tipped hose, how do you know the owner installed the item?

I have a receipt that this was done by a performance shop in 2003. The receipt did not did not state exactly what was done (just said that boost increased from 9-14 psi and that boost cuts above 14psi) so before I bought the car the previous owner called up the place and was told a fixed bleed valve was installed. I would assume I have a fixed bleed valve as if I floor it the car will eventually begin to stutter which i have to upshift at around 4k-6krpm to avoid.

How do you mean stutter? Fuel cut is very aggressive, and it's more like 12psi depending on other mods and weather

Hmmm so I don't have a fixed bleed valve?. Ill install a boost gauge so I can see what's happening.
And the stutter happens when I'm flooring it and the revs get to a certain point usually 4-6krpm and the car still pulls but with only what feels like half the power and then switches back to full power on and off until I release the throttle or shift up

Fuel cuts more like removing all power, no idea what your issue is, maybe bad plugs or something

I had hoon with the boost gauge today and I am peaking at around 13 psi not sure if this is the cause of the stutter as didn't test enough but from my knowledge this surely isn't stock boost??

That's not stock, stock manual is about 9, 6-7 for pfl auto

As said, fuel cut is like hitting a wall. Sounds like you need to check your spark plugs

Spark plugs were done not too long ago but if cheaper ones were used could this cause issues under higher boost?

If they are gapped too big that could be a problem. Do you know what went in?

Not a clue as previous owner got them done in a garage. I would get to them myself but from what I've read here getting them is a bit of a mission.
Its not to say that I'm not up for it but would save that job for a weekend

The front three are easy to get at. It's the rear three that take some time.
