Car History
For Sale is my late father’s 1996 Legnum VR4. This car was his pride and joy. Unfortunately, he died after a long battle with cancer about 3 weeks ago. I believe he may have had some correspondence with you here, as despite his age he was active on the computer (though he could still never send a text! Haha)
I wanted to put this car for sale here before it goes on the general sites, eBay etc. as he really would have wanted it to go to another enthusiast who would cherish and look after it as he did. He was old school. He built and raced his own saloon cars back in the day so knew all about building cars and tuning engines. I don’t know much about it myself, mainly due to living 300 miles away(!), but he has performed some tuning mods to it and anecdotally claimed it had in the region of 350bhp. There’s an adjustable boost gauge on the dash.
It runs and sounds sweet and I gave it a drive a few days ago though the battery does need to be kept on a tender or it goes flat.
He showed me where he’d replaced the gearbox oil through the dipstick, though service details are patchy. I’ll have to see what I can find amongst his things.
He also had me spray coat the underside (including inside the chassis rails) with a diesel/oil mix to protect against corrosion just a few months ago. I did say he was old school!
It’s got some MOT left and nearly 155,000 miles.
There are also some black & silver split rim alloys with tyres which I’ll sell separately. I’m not sure of the condition.
The car is located near Pwllheli in North Wales. The next time I’ll be back will be around the start of November and if you’d like any viewings, we can arrange them around then.
