Gave my drivers side car mat a shake off earlier and noticed that the carpet under the mat was damp. Nowhere else in the car appears to be damp. Any ideas guys? Cheers.

Windscreen leak? Is it definitely water?
The heater matrix can leak and make the carpet wet, but it is far more noticeable on the passenger side.
Does it have a sunroof? If so, it might be a blocked drain tube.
could also be water coming in one of the firewall penetrations if there is a misplaced seal or possibly through the drivers door if the vapour barrier is gone (both are long shots).
Dab the water with a clean bit of tissue, the colour & smell will help eliminate a few choices - coolant or screen wash or spilled drink will all be apparent.
I'll have a better dig tomorrow, but thanks for the suggestions guys.
