Ok i have checked the coolant tank and its empty?! There is some left in the radiatior but idont know how much. It might be a leak or something but before checking that i need some coolant. What type of coolant do i need? It might be a silly question tho...
I have check what type do i need on halfords page and this came up: Comma G30 Antifreeze and Coolant

Yes, FL EA5A is OBD2. I used to have a cheap elm327 off eBay and I used Torque app for android phone. If you have android you can get the free version of this and you can monitor a vast amount of actual values. You should then be able to work out if any sensors are reading wrong.
I can't remember if 6a13 has 2 temp sensors, one for dash and one for ecu. I think my fto 6a12 did

Hahaha i have exact same obd2 adapter elm327 from amazon. I have torque pro on my note 3 also the driodscan paid version and both do the treat. Is it possible that the coolant disapeared a bit after lets say 5 years? Its a closed system so cant think how it disappeared...

I'm not as familiar with the V6 as the VR4, but the VR4 uses two water temp sensors. One is a single wire which feed the dashboard and only really says if the coolant is approx the right temp. Temps have to be quite low or quite high for the needle to be anywhere but the middle of the gauge. The other is a two wire connection and feeds the ecu with a much more accurate signal. If the V6 is the same then it is possible that the two wire sensor is on the fritz, or the dash gauge is not showing up the irregularity.
