cv joint differences?

just tried splitting the cv joint on the passenger side drives haft and fitting a fewest replacement and the drive shaft is to thick for the cv joint, are there differing drives hats on these?, I can find 2 part numbers mr246169 and 246173, the 173 one is the one I got

are you talking front or rear drive shaft?

i know there are differences in the thickness of the rear drive shaft at the splined end that goes into the CV joint between the VR4 rear and the EVO 8,9 and EVO 10.

i know this because i have some EVO8 and EVO 10 and VR4 rear passenger drivshaft in the shed, for a little project i have on the go.

i only mention this because if you have bought a evo CV joint thinking it will fit a VR4 shaft it might have been a bad idea.
i will have a look at ASA an see what the part numbers say.

thx dave, its the front driveshaft, got the same part as the drivers side one that i did last year but the driveshaft is just too thick
