extra connectors on right hand side of dash

On the right hand side of the dash just below the wing mirror adjust I have a blank section, as well as a section just below that which is a little storage pocket.

If I pop out the blank section there is 3 sets of cables there, a yellow and a blue connector with 6 cables and a white connector with 2 cables. Does anyone know what these do? I'm guessing one set might be for the traction control which my car doesn't have.

The others would be, I think, cruise / tcl / and wiper heater doo-dah..

mine is auto. it also doesn't have traction control, I beleive there is a switch on the dash around that area for traction control.

My Cruise control is on the left hand side under the wiper blade stalk

It might be for as above the Wiper heater and the retractable wing mirror switch

it isn't the wing mirror controls, have a look at these pics.

the picture on the left side of the steering wheel shows I have nothing on that side at all. on the right side of the sterring wheel shows the dash dimmer control.

the other picture obviously shows the 3 cables I'm talking about. The one with the white connector is clearly designed for higher current, it has quite beefy connectors on it, and the wires are quite thick leading to it. The 2 6pin connectors look as though they are designed to carry basic signals, the wires are quite a bit thinner.

The yellow one is for the TCL switch and the blue one is for the heated screen. The white looks like it has been added by a previous owner.

The wiring does not extend to the fuse box or control systems so it is not just a case of buying a switch and connecting it to make these systems work :sad2:

cool, thanks for that guys. I don't need the traction control or the heated windscreen, so thats all ok. I wonder what the white one was then, maybe an alarm?

I think the top hatch is my favourite place for mounting an AVC-R

I have found that there is still power to at least one of those plugs (cant remember which) as I used it to power my boost gauge! (including the dimmer for when lights turned on)
