Locking threads in the merchandise section

Why not lock a thread where the item/car has been sold and/or edit the headline so it says SOLD..

A job for the forum moderators

Just as easy for the seller to write sold in big letters on the first and last posts.

Well it does not seem to work that way today..

The thread in question had been edited by the seller, but maybe not in the best way. Unfortunately, editing the title of the first post does not edit the title of the thread. I don't think it is a huge issue though? Locking the thread is something we have only done if people are becoming unfriendly and comments are becoming too negative. I personally don't see the need to prevent people from further posts in that thread. However there is a committee meeting tomorrow - I will see if your idea is met with approval there.

In our swedish forum it work out quite well with locking the thread, then it is very easy to see if something has been sold or not. It does not need to be a negative thing to lock threads
