FS - Bosch Pads & Discs

Due to being sent the wrong ones I've got a set of brand new front pads and discs for a post '97 model galant. They are the larger type (296mm) from memory but basicly the size up from the 256mm ones my galant uses).

BEWARE I was told that these would fit my 99 model galant, but they don't. For some reason mine uses the '97 model smaller diameter braking system.
Anyway, they are brand new, high quality and going for £40 + postage, or collection no problem.

Some V6's use ths same size pad/disc as the VR4. But remember there is a stud pattern difference, so the discs are not compatible.

You have got me doubting myself about the disc now! But definitely, my V6 had the same brake pads as my VR4. (FDB 375?)

    /edit - FDB 765 - close, but no cigar!

And now searching on 765 got me to this thread:
    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4782
so seems like you are right on disc dimensions.

So to try and stop confusing everybody on this thread, are the components for sale the 275 disc (four stud) and the 765 shape pad?

    Now you've got me confused!!!!
I'll check dimensions and part numbers tomorrow.
They are a 4 stud pattern and I'm pretty certain they are the 294mm version.

If they're 4 stud, it's highly likely they'll be 275mm - The V6 was never kitted out with 294mm discs. Yeah, check 'em out and let us know.

when i had 4 stud the standard item were 256mm, single pot claipers

i then swaped to evo 1-3 brake calipers and disks, which were 276mm, twin pot calipers

now ive got 5 stud facelift hubs/carriers/brakes which are 294mm, twin pot calipers

Here we go then the actual dimensions of the goods on offer.
Discs are 276mm diamete, 24mm thick, 69mm hole in centre.
The pads, do match the discs and are as follows:
150mm overall length(meashuring the metal back plate)
47.6mm wide in the centre. Bosch part number 424 523 B, listed for the galant 4w/s 4w/s, and the sigme 3000
hopefully this sheds light on the situation!

sounds like ther for the 7G galant to me...

why not buy evo 1-3 twin pots, they bolted up to my legnum no probs, then you could use the disks

Not being totally sure about this I can't state it for a fact, but i believe that mine is a 7g galant. if anyone could confirm this it would be helpful. And according to the Bosch parts system the pads and discs I'm uding now are for a pre '97 galant even though mine is a 99!

And in answear to your question Gly, I've just reconned my calipers with mitsi seals and they do a fine job of stopping 1 and a half tons of jap metal!!

    Its an 8g

As said by a few, it seems youve just been given the larger of the two types of disc available for the 8g v6.

    thats good to know.
and it seems you are right abou those discs.
so the advice is if you want them make sure the sizes are correct!
