    diagnostic codes complete set?

    Hi All,

i have been looking around and searching for the answer but no results came up. found some bits and bobs, but not the full answer. Now for the question.

Does anyone have a full list of the fault codes kicked out by a VR4 and the item they relat to.

The following is what i compiled from the post.

It seems that the individual warning lights flash the codes associated with the individual system. E.G. (codes used in the example are made up i don't know what they are) the AYC light flashes 83 it is fault 83 on the AYC. or engine light flashes 28 it is fault 28 on the engine and so on.

If more than one code is stored, it will display each one in a repeating sequence, eg. 31, 52, 64, 31, 52, 64...

Here are the diagnostic codes pulled from different threads can't garentee the correctness of them.

    CODE ITEM
    11 Oxygen Sensor
    12 Air Flow Sensor
    13 Intake air temperature sensor

71 : vacuum valve solenoid. ECU error code

I know some must be wrong as some codes are repeated with different desciptions.

Can anyone post a more definitive list or pull this list apart with statment of which a true untrue and addition.

This thread is just an information thread to be refined into something more useful.

    Hope it helps somebody.

    Cheers

I will try to make some sens of the garbled mess i put up in the post. but i am surprised this hasn't been done already.

Maybe it would be best to just build on the standard list and anyone else can add to it on a say more public way.

I think we would all agree the following are correct.

    CODE ITEM
    11 Oxygen Sensor
    12 Air Flow Sensor
    13 Intake air temperature sensor
    14 Throttle position sensor
    15 ISC Motor Position Sensor
    21 Engine coolant temperature sensor
    22 Crank angle sensor
    23 Camshaft position sensor
    24 Vehicle speed sensor
25 BARO Sensor (listed as 26 in one info source)
    31 Detonation sensor
    32 Vacuum sensor
    36 Ignition Timing Adjustment Signal
    39 Oxygen Sensor
    41 Injector system
    42 Fuel Pump
    43 EGR
44 Ignition coil and power transistor unit (Cylinder 1 & 4)
52 Ignition coil and power transistor unit (Cylinder 2 & 5)
53 Ignition coil and power transistor unit (Cylinder 3 & 6)
55 Idle Air Control Valve/Servo Valve Position Sensor
    61 Communications wire with A/T-ECU
62 Intake air control valve position sensor
    64 Alternator FR terminal
71 Vacuum control solenoid valve (TCL)
72 Ventilation control solenoid valve (TCL)

83 = AYC fault code, think pump pressure as i got this one before changing pressure switch, AYC waring light flashing.

Please add to it if you know the code exists even if you don't know the meaning and which warning light flashes.

On the code list please indicate which warning light will flash the code if you know it.

I'm after 13 & 14 flashed by the ABS light - any ideas?
The workshop manual I have (doesn't cover VR-4s) suggests its the left and right rear speed sensors??

    cheers

    Hey everyone,

Thought I would share something I have come accross.
I have a Japanese copy of the the 6A13TT/Galant/Legnum manual, and have been able to use google translate to determine what the codes for the ASC system (skidding car) indicate when the car is in diagnostic mode:
**Note not all the translations make sense, but its a good start

    ASC codes

Well i have spent some time doing a complete dump of all the error codes i could find in the japanese lagnum manual, and translating them to English. These are a direct translation. i haven't messed with the grammer. the numbers on the end of the description are the numbers of the flow chats used to diagnose the error. systematic just means system.

Hi i just to confirm im reading the error codes correctly:

ignition on, car running = AYC and ABS light are ON. (so i have a problem)

Then, Ignition on, pins 1 and 4 on test plug connected together. (car not running)

    Engine light is flashing constantly
ABS light is on, not flashing.
ASC light is flashing 3 different codes, 56,65,51

i just want to confirm, this means i only need to look at the AYC error code list?

its just there are multiple possible problems for the same code number (ie 51), so i want to be sure im looking at the right section..

I'd say you need to look at the ASC codes list? Unless it is the AYC light that is flashing......

by the way the number at the end of error code/description is a fault finding flow chart that is in the manual. unfortuneatly these are in Japanees.

If you were a full member i could send you the japanees flow charts and you could use babelfish (or similar) to translate them. this would give you a step be step method for diagnosis.

Eddy: Are you sure you have read the codes correctly (ASC is the skidding car symbol) as there is no code 56 for ASC.
So are you sure this is showing 56? Perhaps you mean TCL light is flashing 56?

when you are reading the codes, you have to remeber that the longer flash is the first digit and the shorter flash is the second digit.

Also make sure you note the light that flashes Engine, ABS, AYC, ASC (skid car) , N for auto gear box.

flashing once a second ish is the normal "everything OK" indication.

sorry just reread your post, NO!

Don't have the engine running, just ignition on, as if the engine is running the code can be blanked out by a on all the time warning light.
