    5 days to go....

Well I hope so!!!!! I really cant wait to get her back, its been almost 2 months and to be honest driving a honda civic all this time is very fustrating!! Every body overtakes me!!

The car is with my mate John @ NS Spec. Work on it began last week. heres whats getting done

    - Full manual conversion with a new Exedy heavy duty Clutch Kit
2.5inch down pipes into 3 inch mandrel bent custom exhaust
    - Custom cold air intake with a HKS mushroom air filter, fully sealed and boxed and air will travel through vents coming from underneath the left part of Front Bumper
    - Battery to Boot
    - Walbro 500hp fuel pump
    - 3 x Auto gauge 07 stepper motor smoked face 60mm gauges -
Boost/Oil pressure/Oil temp mounted into Pillar
    - 19 x 7.5inch Koya Inox GTR5 5/114.3 (offset 45) - These clear brembos so they wont be too far hopefully.
    - Full service with NGK sparkies and SIN Fully synthetic oil
    - Toyo proxie 215/35/19 tyres
    - Project Mu pedal Kit/ Momo gear knob
    - HID 8000k Kit

The Teins will be fixed this week also, as Gly and Uc are fully aware of the rings that snapped on us. Me and Mpauu will hopefuly be working on them this week......cheers Mike

Im currently on the look for a Good electronic boost controller, anyone reccomend anything? Git any hook ups?

    Cant wait!!!!

The Apexi AVC-R is about the best boost controller out there, but there are lots of other good electronic ones out there.

As for the wheels, I hope they are strong, you don't have much sidewall there! They look like a fairly big and chunky 5 spoke design, so they should be ok.

I take it your not selling this good looking beast anymore??

I have a blitz b/c (little bit old now) and it hasn't failed me yet, got 4 boost settings and a few other buttons that do something.
I only speed when i overtake, so i don't spend to much time on the wrong side of the road!!!!!

Apexi is definately the most popular......what about the G Reddy profec?

The mags should be sweet! Although I must mention that part of the reason why im getting them is because they are a once in a life time hook up! 2 G's all up for Mags & tyres!! Got directly through a mates mate who is the North Island sales rep for Koya.

But dont worry Brad, they will get the flick eventually.

LOl!!! Aint that the truth about Boost controllers!! some many buttons? Guess thats why the Apexi is so good, it pretty much looks after itself Ive heard, all you have to do is set the boost to the level you want it does the rest....

mapecu 2, and a boost control solenoid,

with the amount of mods your car has i wouldnt bother with just a boost controller,

the stock ecu wont be coping that well with that lot and will most likely be over fueling,

    1. Full Timing advance and retard control of up to eight (8) channels for Distributor, Group Fire or Coil On Plug configurations using a 20 x 19 (380 zone) table.
    2. Auxiliary Injector control using a 20 x 19 (380 zone) table.
    3. OEM O2 Sensor Adjust 26 x 19 (494 zone) table allowing control over Air/Fuel ratios, even in Closed-loop mode.
    4. Expanded RPM scale now up to 10,000 RPM.
    5. Two (2) complete sets of Fuel, Timing, Auxiliary Injector, O2 Adjust and EBC tables selectable using a dashboard mounted switch.
    6. Electronic Boost Control with 1000 RPM target boost points.
    7. Launch Control
    8. Fuel Cut Defender
    9. Speed Cut Defender
    10. Built-in 35PSI MAP Sensor
    11. External MAP Sensor option
    12. User selectable pressure scale configurations

around $1000 + install and tuning if needed.

great price for all the features you get.

Yeah its a piggy back, so you have to fight the MUTII, although this can supposedly deal with that better than MAP1, except mines only doing a couple of things at the moment.

    http://www.mapecu.co.nz/map2.html

I think its a good value mod, even though there hasnt been any dyno stuff on our cars yet. The ability to log all the different inputs is really handy.

The thing youv got to remeber though is that you'll need some extras to get it working. You can install it easy enough, but you'll either need to get a wideband o2 sensor, or take it to a tuner, neither of which are free. Also, you need a laptop if youre going to do it yourself.

I'm guessing it would probably be worth doing in the long run, although you could probably just go for a full stand alone.

But for $1k, a decent 2 setting (all be it difficult to program) boost controller, launch controller, and the ability to log seems worth it to me.

once the mapecu is tuned and fully set up,

there wouldnet be any issues unless you do more mods but then you would only need a retune/tweek of the fuel map.

i would imagine mapecu, with all the bits and bobs, and a pro dyno tune some where around the $2500 mark, cheaper if you can do the installl yourself,
maybe mike could help you since he did his own map2 install?

but its worth it in the end to have a car thats running to its full potential...

me personally im running mike old Gizzmo IBC, and a mapecu 1,
id love the extra features of the map2,

Yeah, i could help with that no troubles, its really not too hard with all the info floating around here. Its just the tuning side of things i'm still learning about, and to be honest, i'm a little worried i'll blow something up, plus its making a time to commit to tuning it.

    A quick update

The car wont be ready this weekend because John has been down with the flu for 3 days....suck!!!

But most of the manual conversion has been done, just had to fabricate a new master cylinder line because the one we got from timos wreck had gone missing.....

work on the inside has began now the auto box disconnected, getting the pedal arrangement sorted and so on.

On the look out for a new muffler as the one I had on my car was pretty banged up!!

So, looks like the car wont be ready till mid week next week, fingers crossed...

I would be very, very careful on these wheels and tyres.
My brother has 215/40/19 on his and the rims have started to crack. They're not cheap ones either. Also quite chunky spokes on them too.
Avoid any pot holes, train tracks or anything that resembles dip/rise in the road.

really? I think your bro had advantis? there build quality aint that great, well so ive heard......but your not the first to say so? I know the koya rep and the mag and turbo sales dude had these very same wheels on there sacked rides and they had no issues.....I think it depends on what wheel your getting and how you drive really...... but thanks for info mate

Read this and use the link on that page to download 'Pixresizer'.

    Good little app IMHO.

Looking forward to seeing the pics of your mods BTW.
