1987 Ford Sierra Mk1 1.8 L rusty as hell - Out to grass for the first estate, then used again for a couple of month then sold it for £30 to a fried who grass tracked it.
1989 Ford Sierra Mk2 2.0i SOHC Ghia Estate - written off after an icy encounter. Went back to the Mk1 until i got.....
1990 Ford Sierra Mk2 2.9i DOHC Ghia Estate - cracking car, spun it off the road and it was fine. Blew the head gasket twice on it, did 45k miles in it in 3 years before the rust and head gasket killed it.
2000 Mitsu Galant Estate V6 - Currrent drive. 16k miles in 3 years so far
No longer empty and frantic...
Malc - keep the VR-4 and get rid of something else!
Anyway my history is quite simple.
1991 Mazda Familia Hatch. Owned from Jun 1999 to Dec 2003 went from 80-177km
1998 Legnum 1.8 GDI. Owned from Dec 2003 to Jul 2005. From 90 - 145km
1998 Legnum VR-4. Owned from May 2005, converted the gearbox. installed an ecu, and lots of other things Got it at 108km, now done 134km

1996 Legnum ST-R. Owned from July 07, got it at 99km, going in this week to get every single thing replaced, checked and lubed!
Lots of multipul leggie owners here lol good mix of cars to.
Car now sold, what shall I buy with my spondolies?
1. first car Ford fiesta 1.1L A reg - it was white, and being ford died of rust
2. Vauxhall astra 1.4 - just had it serviced for 600 quid, told it was brilliantly maintained and would last years. Rolled it on the way home, write off. Hire care arrived (corsa) - after handbraking it everywhere for a week int he snow, on the last day it was going back i drove into my drive, people were standing in it, i moved over and hit my wall -- nice.
3. Ford escort ghia 1.6 Greg in poo colour. Lost a girlfriend over that one. She didn't die, she just hated it!
4. 106 1.1 zest - bought cos girls like new cars don't they. Had 4 on the go, all found out, lost a lot of money and cant go into town anymore.
5. 200sx turbo -fastest car ive ever owned. Killed by mobil1.
6. Renault 19 1.4 - cheap, runaround, sold cos it bored me and rubbish in snow. when the heaters stopped working and my cigarette lighter heater got stolen when i abandoned it int he snow i had to let it go. Sold on ebay to brazilians who didnt speak english.
7. Rover 620 turbo - back on the fast lane again, lovely car, sold when i needed a head gasket and the cash for a new house.
8. 405 1.6 saloon - bought for 50 quid. it smoked but it went and i needed a car urgently! reliable generally, but fried a little chip ont he engine (?) gave away free when i got...
9. Escort 1.8 turbo diesel - fast little diesel, but just died frome very angle apart from the engine, although a cam belt every 20k was annoying and expensive. Had to take power steering out to fit new alternators - no! Currently fighting dvla over a fine on this one for no tax, even though it's scrapped!
10. Peugeot 405 diesel - sisters cast off. solid car, old inside, but reliable indeed and great mpg. it was an estate so the size of a boat. respect for peugeots went up.
11. Golf Vr6 - on long time loan really. fast, but dangerous and fuel expensive.
12. Galant v6 2.5 to present day

1. Mini Mayfair 998cc. First car, had a 1.3L engine in and was unbelievable fun. Taught me a hell of a lot about cars as well. However I did end up spending a fortune as I replaced, all the electrics, the engine, the rear subframe, a couple of clutch slave cylinders, clutch master cylinder, etc... In relative terms it probably cost more to run than the VR-4!
2. Kia Pride. Don't laugh! I had a 56 mile round trip to work at the time and it was all I could afford!
3. P10 Primera 1.6LX. Felt like my first proper car! Quite nippy and very reliable plus it didnt look too bad either as it was one of the final ones off the line and it had all the extra bits like sunroof, alloys, chrome handles that Nissan chucked on at the end.
4. P11 Primera GT SE. One of the limited editions to celebrate Nissan's success in the touring cars, with the Chromaflair flip paint. Loved it, that only went to make way for the VR-4! Plus my sister bought it off me, so I can have a bit drive of it now and again!
5. S13 200sx Executive. One of the last S13s, had a few mods done including HKS down pipe, decat, Apex full stainless steel, KYB shocks, Bailey BOV for the grin factor, despoilered, "sleepy eyes" mod, denso plugs, and few other bits. Still in my garage!
6. 2001 Ralliart VR-4. I love it!

I would love to have kept a few of these cars. The 1293S was a bit special in its day - wider track, wheel arches, limited slip diff, roll cage - it was a flyer in its day. The Capri was a beast - difficult to try to compare it to today's cars (I'm sure, for example, that the VR-4 would eat it for lunch), but it was hugely quick at the time. I do wish I could have kept the Aston but I was only 24 at the time (and working part-time for an Aston Martin / Lotus / Reliant Scimitar dealer) and just plain couldn't afford it. It was good to drive for a year though ... The rest were pretty uninspiring until I got into turbos You can probably spot the year that Mrs H came on the sceneOriginally Posted by MPBVr4
I think I'd have wished I still had the DB6 !!!!Originally Posted by MPBVr4
