The stupidest bus driver in the UK

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7035041.stm

Can you imagine the pain the poor lad had to go through due to some stupid and idiotic driver?

Obviously when you are driving you can tell when something is not quite right with the ride quality when something is stuck or in the way. Here we are talking about a human body being stuck under the wheel and the driver claiming he knew nothing?

Its people like these that need to be punished and punished severely. Unfortuantely our legal system is too soft and he'll probably get something like 5 years or so for manslaughter.

Errrr while I wish in no way to diminish sadness and severity of this incident, think your comments are a little unfounded untill all the facts are known.....

Even so - the bus will still weigh several tons and over the engine noise, I very much doubt anything would be heard or felt by the driver. It is a tragedy, but.... Well, who knows what really happened?

Certainly a traggedy that never should have happened and hopefully a

proper and thurough investigation will find out what the actual cause was

and hopefully prevent it from ever happening again. It could have been the

two friends were playing around a bit and he slipped and fell under the bus

and his friend is afraid to say anything. Just going to have to wait and find

    out what actually happened.

I think theres more to it then we know atm. Thats the point - how did he actually fall under the wheels of the bus as he came off the bus????

But yes definately the driver must of seen something through his mirrors. Thats what they are there for.

This drive also should be taken off the road.

Ive got my class1 hgv/lgv it was hgv when i took my test, and i can tell you that any driver worth his salt should aways be aware off his surroundings.

He will have a blind spot that this person may have been in, but he should still be aware of his surroundings and is ultimately responsible.

Similar thing happened here a while ago - but it was a school kid, and I think she got her back pack caught in the door and then go dragged under the bus. The bus driver didn't notice, and took no notice of all the other kids on the bus shouting at him for a while.... not sure what happened in the end (I'm pretty sure the kid died though).

If you run over a cat/rabbit/possum which weighs say 5-10kg in a car (1500kg) you can defintely feel the bump, multiply both by a factor of 10 and you are up at 50-100kg and 15tons which are both perfectly possible weights, and I find it hard to beleive he wouldn't have felt a thing.
