    Help with error codes

    Hi Guys,

just after some advice relating to some error codes being displayed by my 96 Legnum VR4.

According to here, the ABS light is flashing 13 (Intake air temperature sensor) and 14 (Throttle position sensor). The engine light constantly flashes as does the AYC light.

Also, EvoScan is reporting a multitude of different error codes which change if I clear and re-check via EvoScan e.g.

    Oxygen Sensor
    Intake air flow sensor
    Throttle position sensor
    Engine coolant temperature sensor
    Camshaft position sensor
    Vehicle speed sensor
    Barometric pressure sensor

clear codes, turn off engine, turn on

    Vehicle speed sensor
    Barometric pressure sensor

I took it to Mistubishi here in Oz and they said they couldn't even read the codes (useless pricks...). I then spoke to an Evo expert near me and he suggested it might be an ECU earthing issue.

Any one have any suggestions? I will do a run with EvoScan on soon and see if what the TPS is reporting.

    cheers

I constantly have a Vehicle speed sensor issue and have seen several cars with a constant TPS issue.

I'm never sure whether to believe everything that evoscan tells me, but it is certainly a good point of reference. Other than to suggest that you check each fault in turn, there's not much I can say to help!

One other thought - has your car had the 'MAF mod' done? Search on here for MAF mod/ MAF screw and see if you can work it out - I can't remember the details, but I think that the MAF mod could be a source of the MAF and the ECU falling out?
