Was a great evening for me. First experience of a race track environment and a little of what the VR-4 is capable of. Thats thanks to Mr Physician, who took me out for a couple of laps in a very poorly car.

Surely has now whetted my appetite for some real tracktime myself. Might be looking at something in the next few weeks.

Oh yeah, if you ever step in a puddle of coolant be sure to clean your soles before getting back into the driving seat! That was definitely a moment for me there! Thanks Richard

Was great to meet some of the CVR-4 lot too.

Good to say hello to some of those I've met before, and some I haven't.

Sorry I didn't get chance to speak to you Atik (I was the one in the Danger Mouse t-shirt!). Glad you enjoyed 99% of your time out on track - I take it you took some brown trousers home after that minor incident!

As ever, the kids seem to enjoy seeing lots of fast cars going past - although the regular jets coming in to land at East Mids were more of a distraction for them. They did mean that me and Mrs elnevio couldn't spend much time (well, none for Amy) in the pit lane (no under 16s allowed) and were confined to the stands for the most part.

And a cobweb-ridding blast is also nice and we indulged in a little bit of V70R baiting on the way home!

    But only a little...

Great to meet some new faces and old.

Overall what a cr@p meeting that was what with poor Derek's car getting nicked and my overheating issue.

So sorry I couldn't take you out at high speed Atik but glad you got a little taste of trackdays. For anyone that didn't understand Atiks comments about a scary moment ........ I had stepped in the pink coolant and then took Atik on track. We were doing about 90 mph on the fastest straight but when I put my foot on the brake it slipped off and we had a brown trousers moment as we hurtled towards the pit wall! I simply had to turn into the bend faster than usual ........

Sheeeeesh Bern - I lurve that Ferrari of yours - class buddy, class!

Elnevio ...... some brilliant photos there - thanks.

Nick ...... nobody scolded - I told everyone to move back before undoing the cap which is a new 1.1 bar that I fitted rather than the 0.9 standard. Didn't work

    EDIT:
Oh! Atik .......... I forgot to mention that although I was only driving you around slowly - it was still faster than Derek would have driven you!
    RIP: Richard (Physician)

Certainly am using it, this Ferrari lost it's "ornament" status when i bought it last October. It took us down to Thruxton for the BTCC in May, 400 mile round trip, no problems, only buzzing ear drums.

    360 modena

Highlight of the evening for daughter Sarah, a very nice man with a FERRARI 360 MODENA took her out on track for 5 laps.

Meant to give this thread a bump earlier today in fitting memory of Richard. It was the only time I met him, and had a very memorable passenger lap in his car.

I'd only owned my VR4 for less than three weeks at this point and had never been in a car with anything more than 130bhp or so. And to be in such a large car and for it to be driven with such skill and speed was definitely an eye-opener. Really showed me what these cars are capable of.

    @miller

Hey Mike, do you still have the original photos from this track evening at Donington?

Didn't realise that they weren't hosted on CVR4.
