    2-din unit wiring

Well, I've just bought 2-din multi unit for my car and find few issues bit confusing me (I'm not a very keen person on electrics...).
    1. Wirnig in ISO plug. There are obviously outs for speakers and: +12V battery, ACC, ground (earth)... but I can't figure out what is for blue wire described as "back". What is Mitsi equivalent for that one?
    2. My unit is described as running on wince 4.2 OS. Is this OS the same (or compatibile) with common in PDA WindowsCE?
    Thanks for help or suggestion...

it'll be either the power aerial or the illumination wire, turn the unit on and see if there is a 12v feed coming from that wire, if so its the aerial if not then its the lights

Already went thru all thread... Nothing about "back"...

    But...

Just figured out (I hope...) !

Because my unit supports reverse camera (there are video in and reverse cam +12V inputs) as well...
...I think that might be +12V feed taken from reverse lights to auto switch play mode to camera while reversing.

    Gonna be busy Sunday

Still question no 2 to answer...

If it's WinCE 4.2 then it's the same as some (older) PocketPC devices, but I wouldn't get too excited as there are a lot of WinCE platforms, and you're going to need to know what CPU, what memory addressing system and possibly what graphics hardware is included if you want to go crazy with it.

Out of interest, which headunit is it, please?

Nothing exciting. Just very cheap stuff from HongKong with some Kenwood interior. Exactly "noname", bought for 75 GBP from auction on eBay.

At the moment, I'm researching web to find any bits of info. Just found that OS is indeed WinCE.net 4.2. Well I consider to set up GPS with Bluetooth external antenna and MioMap 3.2 for mapping.

    And another question
Where to get +12V feed for antenna. My VR4 has electric hidden roadio aerial, so I assume I'll need to plug somewherye blue wire described as "antenna". So far coaxial is pluged but radio is dead (no receiving anything). And my unit hasn't got any feed output for aerial :-(
Can I take +12V from battery or ACC?? Any ideas?

    All sorted
Even TV works very fine, just done additional amplifier (gain) between unit and aerials on my back window. Shame tv has no such thing like RDS (auto switch between transmitter beacons/relys) in radio...

Well, anyone tried to connect external GPS unit by bluetooth with that sort of hardware? I mean that one GPS which is working with i.e. mobiles, pda, ppc? Don't know if is it worth to spend another 20 quid for training purposes

you get yourself a GPS reciever, wire it up to 12v that comes on with stereo or ignition. you have to download the road maps unless already installed, and it should work
