wouldnt bother...vr4s are so cheap these days it wouldnt be economical to do the transplant
its just not worth the hassel... (cash & time wise)
dont forget it has to be cert'd to,
you'll need (at least)
- motor,
- gearbox/transfer case/diff, (more problems if you use a AYC diff, and complete arse to find a non-ayc diff.)
thats if youir 4wd,- if not i think you will find you will kill you standard box very quick especially if its auto.
- complete loom, cant use the existing one, (engine and cabin)
- hish vis dash (if you get the loom from a high vis'd dash vr4)
- ecu,
- brakes, calipers and disks (the GDI ones are smaller) and bia's valve will be have to changed to the vr4 one,
- suspension (the GDI has softer suspension)
- strut brace, possibly sway bars
alot of time and effort for no real gain...
just buy one, and mod it
OR..
put a 4g63T in it.... it will be different. and it has been done in Japan/USA
dont ask how to do the swap because no one heres done a gdi-vr4 swap,
because its point less,
sell the silly GDI and buy a VR4, you can get them for as little as $3-4k if you take your time looking around, if you in a hurry 6k+
if you need finance, alot more from a stealler
