I had a squeaky brake pedal which felt rough when pressed down, but with some grease on the pivot it feels clean again. I definitely felt the pedal seems firmer than before when pressing down, and I actually got the AYC lihts up on some of the 'bedding in' braking.

The pads though, they really are something else. I will be looking at getting a set of XP8 pads for the rears in the new year, with EBC discs all round.

Still, for now, I'm a happy bunny with good brakes!

Marcin, Exact Engineering do a full set of lines for the car, but cos I didnt need to change my rears, I have a spare set available - rears only. If Exact sell them as singles, just get the fronts and you can take my unused ones if you want? I wont really be doing much with them just sat in the shed. Also, having said that, Exact's prices are so good anyway, its probably easier to just get the full set from them.
No problem mate, I can get the rears from you. Hold on to them until I speak to Exact which will be after the 28th (payday )

My current setup is a temporary measure anyway until I save £££££££££ to finish off the Brembo project. So I'm not going to invest any more in rear brakes (except braided lines) as they are completely standard ATM.
Front EBC setup is good enough (when I get the lines) for now.

Martin #im running the EBC turbo grooves with carbotech pads up front, the rear i will probably be keeping stock, if i would do anything might stretch to a set of green stuffs, carbotechs on the rear would be overkill

No way, I'm not going to do any more to my brakes (except braided lines) until ££££ are saved to complete the Brembo project
No point of spending more money on rear brakes as it won't do much difference.

Marcin, If you thought DS2500s were good, you'll like the Carbotechs if you're thinking what pads to put in your Brembos. I must say with standard calipers, whilst DS2500s were okay, I certainly found them no better than the EBC 'Reds' or Black Diamond Predator Pads - and all of those just can't compare to Carbotechs.

Previously I had standard discs and DS2500.
Now I've got EBC discs and 'Reds' and I can feel some improvement. Probably because of the discs.
I think it's the best value for money before going for brembos.
I will seek some advice when I have enough £££ to finance the Brembo conversion and you will probably be first source of information K

Martin - yes, I have standard discs at the moment on front and rear. The only thing I have changed is front lines and pads and fluid all round.

I'm no expert, but even I know that XP8 pads on the rear may be overkill, but I feel safe with them. I feel like I know exactly what will happen when I touch the brake pedal, and because of that, I will stick with Carbotech for life now! I will also take it as guaranteed that the EBC discs will do me just as well without even trying them, as everyone here has good stuff to say about them. So I'll be getting EBC discs all round in the new year. Its just the way I am, I think why not spend that little more to get absolute peace of mind with a trusted solution rather than maybe saving a few ££s for a new 'unknown' solution.

Also, just drove my mates Alfa 156 just now, and he's had brand new discs and pads a few weeks ago and is raving that they are really really good. Little does he know! Not even close to Carbotech stopping power... by a long way! Hehehe.

I had the same experience when I've changed stock pads to DS2500 on stock discs. The difference was massive!
Now will see what the braided hoses and blue fluid will do...

i might do the braded lines, whilst im happy with my brakes to a point i feel there could be more to them, and i want to bleed them to get the pedal feeling better, usually pump them once before the pedal feels nice

I'd phone them for a deal as you sometimes get better deals on ebay than that for the same products from the same supplier.
    Nick,

how good did the deal come to? my pads are finito now so it is the right time to upgrade the discs and pads. plus seeing as im over your way soon timing is all good
    Still here somewhere........

Mike, I'd suggest that you get Carbotechs for whatever discs you decide on. They make a massive difference!

I asked twice as i was a bit flummoxed too!

I then queried about adding the rears to the order....now they were expensive in the grand scheme of things. they brought the order to £199
