    ACC temp sensor problem?

I have tried to search the forum for this problem but can't find any other post so here goes.

My new baby had a problem deciding the temp inside the car. It thinks it's much hotter inside then it really is. Driving her home I had to set the temp to 29 deg to get about 22 inside. From what I have understood the temp sensor is located just by the temp knob like on all later G8 Galants.

Is the temp sensor a separate thing that might have come lose, fallen back and get heated by the stereo? I'd hate to rip the center console apart just to find that the sensor is built into the acc control unit.....

There is a pipe that runs from the climate control unit to the heater unit somewhere .This pipe can become dislodged if the dash has been taken apart. The only way to check this is to remove the panels as far as I remember

Thanks Peter! Now I at least know what I have to look for. The previous owner mounted a new stereo. Dunno if he maybe managed to do something that make the pipe come lose.

I'm sure there is an article in the members section about removing the dash, its really quite easy if you know how

If you can't find it, the gear stick surround must be removed first - this is held in by clips so can be levered off from the end furthest from the console. The console is also clipped in and can be pulled off.

'97 Manual Legnum in silver with some subtle mods

My first VR4 - '97 Legnum Dark Green & mean ...it was love at first sight - now sold
