Long time lurker now with VR4

    Hey guys,

Just recently purchased a 97 Legnum VR4, after owning my 92 Galant Viento for three years. I've been a lurker in the forums previously, but hopefully you'll see me around a bit more

I'm 22 years old from Auckland, New Zealand.

Yeah , the NZ section seems to be growing pretty steadily now that the VR4s are getting cheaper

Post up some pictures of your new car

Well well well, now thats an interesting car you've bought. Black = awesome, I see an intercooler, turbo timer a yellow wire in the drivers footwell, a blue one near the fuse box and OMG an ARC cold air box. Now that's something you don't see everyday, don't know how much air(cold) is going into it though??
I'm not arguing...I'm just offering an endless series of contrary points of view.

    Black is teh awesome! Haha.

I have no idea either about the air box. It came with the car But people always pick it up if they know what they're looking at.

I'm gonna plead typical female ignorance and ask what is it meant to do?

A better job than the original lol. Not sure how well that one would be working in that position though. It's just not very common to see an ARC box in a vr4 AFIK as they're rather expensive. The idea is that you can place an after merket air box somewhere that will allow it to have less restricted air flow. This is better done with a pipe leading into the box dirctly from somewhere with a good source to nice cold outside air.

Heres a link to what the original looks like : http://www.gcar.co.jp/gbtrader/1stoc...i/DSCF6226.jpg

The majority of the box is simply used to shield against warm or hot air going in

I do think I've seen that car around before, I recognise how the front bumper is cut.

Anyways, if you are keen to have a meet up with some of the most knowledgeable VR-4 owners in the country, myself, Kenneth, Gly and SubaruETA will be putting my car back together again and doing some stripping of another shell we have here, so if you'd like to turn up, feel free to! You can pm me if you want my address or number.

Sorry, its a bit of a long running humour with Brad and the UK guys..

Im in Whenuapai, so only just west. I grew up out titirangi ways,, but went to highschool on the shore, so im pretty much converted these days Looking to move deeper west next year to be closer to work though so we'll see

Im a fair ways from Brads, but he has a good workshop setup, even if it is starting to fill up with VR4 bits. Be a good chance to have a look over a bunch of parts and stuff if you're interested in seeing what makes them tick.

It is filling up with VR-4 bits, yes, but I think that might be your fault!

I was impressed with Jo at the end of the day, she was under my car putting the 4 bolts into the driveshaft!

Was nice meeting you too Jasmine, hope to see you again at another meet.
