PC won't recognise SD card ??

I've just put my SD Card from my camera into 1 of my Lappys, but it doesn't show up as another drive in My Computer I tried it with another SD car aswell, but still nothing

    Any ideas ?

PS.. I did a fresh XP Pro install about a month ago.. Could it be something to do with that ?? Maybe i haven't installed something that i should have ??

    Cheers

LOL - nah I was thinking that it may need a driver, so would take a looky if I knew which one it was

Edit: checked mine and it shows in device manager under "Storage Controller", and has a specific driver

Perhaps your laptop came with some system driver discs which would have drivers for your SD card reader

If you right click the My Computer icon > properties > hardware > device manager

Does it have a yellow exclamation mark or question mark next to any devices?

If its not a driver issue, it sounds like a MB issue.

Does the card say HC on it (usually will be if over 2GB)? If it does only certain card readers that are HC comptible will be able to read and write to it.

Did the same card work ok before?

You'll need to install the drivers for this device. What make and model of laptop do you have?

    OK Cheers..

I have a Driver Finder Program called Driver Genius Professional..

I used it to install all the missing drivers after my fresh install.. I must have missed that 1

I just ran the program again and it identified the driver missing.. And is now installing it..

I'll let you know the result once it's downloaded and installed

    Cheers Chaps
