    Greetings From United States

    Hey guys,

Wanted to introduce myself, I am a new member from the United States (wish I was across the pond with you guys) I own a 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS non turbo, And a 99 Honda Civic SI ( both vehicles has had the motor rebuild with Forged internals&turbocharged ). I work on cars for a Living I specialize in Nissan and Infiniti. I found Club VR-4 on Google while Looking for DSM parts. Why In the world would the US Not get a cool model like the Galant vr4 (cause we suck) I hope to learn a lot from you guys.

    Hi and welcome...

Yes its strange how certain cars do not get sold in differing markets...

Good for us at least with the VR-4

As some of the Eclipse parts suit the Galant IIRC, maybe you might be a source for such things in the future...

Welcome again and how about some photos of you cars...?

    Chris

I only have 1 picture of the civic on the computer, a few pictures of the eclipse, and tons of the motor that I rebuild for it. Hmm, the images are too big. Can someone resize them and post it up for me?

Nice ride Oggie , is that a GSX or GST? how much power does it put down. I am currently building a 1st Gen for my buddy(GST) that will be a good Sleeper, most people in my town have no idea what a Plymouth Laser is. Is there anything you VR4 guys can Not get because its US only?

I am not at all envious of your tool boxes. Honest.

And don't you get dirt in your air there? It seems you don't need air filters?

and enjoy your stay here! Have a word with amnebrucker, he is about to become an American owner of a Legnum VR4.....

Hehe Well really those tool boxes are years of gathering tools, My box is the smaller of the two. The Jeep is just a shop Toy, I am sure it will be gone by the end of the year. Maybe the next project we start on will be something LOW to the ground and Fast I sure would not mind a Acura NSX.

MMmmm NSX's are nice. Or you could try for an LHD 8G VR-4? A few have been made in mainland European countries.

I seriously wish i owned that car...

    ummm

as far as i know. we have strict laws for lhd imports. if i was to live in teh us and stayed there for 6 months and OWNED a lhd car during that time. I am certain i could bring it back with me and not convert to rhd, but not allowed to sell for 5 years. spose it stops the dealers from living there, comming back for "holidays" and selling it onto the general public.

I know you guys have galants and so does japan. which means we share thatas well as some modfles of the evo.

To be fair though, there aren't many US only cars I'd actually want!

I have to say I agree with you on that, If I were to buy a NEW Car it would be most likely to be European Like BMW or Audi. Most Imported cars we get in the states are washed down when it comes down to Jap vehicles, the last VR4 we got was in 92. Not sure if Mitsubishi,Honda and Nissan Think there is no market for them or does it have something to do with the GM,Ford and Chrysler and there V8's not wanting to get schooled by turbocharged I4 vehicles

Talk of being schooled! A DOHC V6 turbo or MIVEC Inline4 turbo can real give the bigger V8 naturally aspirated motor a run for it's breath!
