Sky Insurance is one some of the club here use, 0870 112 1759
If you sign up to forum membership (its £20 for a year), you get 20% discount with them.
I just insured my first VR4 yesterday with them for £1k fully comp, seems a lot until you factor in;
1. I've only had my license for 2 1/2 years (insurers see it as 2)
2. I've only got 2 years no-claims bonus
3. My car is an import
4. " " has a custom stainless steel exhaust
5. " " is de-catted
6. " " has an aftermarket boost controller
7. " " has an aftermarket BOV (Blow-Off Valve aka Dump Valve)
8. " " has aftermarket 17" chrome alloys
So I recommend them

For me and the GF ita 560 fully comp
Ring them to clarify the car, they never used to have the Twin Turbo listed and would insure it as a V6.Originally Posted by AlanDITD

Paying £500 fully comp with 8 years no claims (protected)

Honey, I never drive faster than I can see, and besides... it's all in the reflexes
If car is insured as a 5 door v6 galant estate......like some insurers have said to me......is it a bit dodgy or can you run with it??? anyone had problems?
you will not be covered in the event of a claim , they will say that it is YOUR issue for not telling them that the schedule is wrong .
lots of cases of insurance companies walking away from people becasue they have a get out of paying clause if you have not told them the policy is wrong
don't chance it

Hi Guys
I have just renewed with Lifesure, previously being insured by Sky.
Protected no claim, £250 excess, VR4 Import 1997, Tracker, Alarm and immobiliser, living in east London, £647...........
Sky had previousley charged my £900 and wanted £1000 for this year.
So I have saved a fair bit but I dont know what their service is like......... I am also 28 years old with 7-8year no claims....
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Well.........Elephant dont know the car so wont insure it!!! only Galant v6 so check your insurance Alanditd.......
Bell also dont list the car so another no there only galant v6 again....
The others are closed so will have to check during the day...
One random I tried.........and this is funny......said I needed at least 2 years experience driving a similar vehicle in power and quoted £2200 big ones...cos i didn't.......lol.... but we had a big arguement that i've been driving a 230bhp MI16 205 GTi with Nitrous for 3-4years and also had a hayabusa during this time but he said it didn't compare !!!! ........ok then mate....
hi i just have leter from norvichunion 4250 gbp who can beat me
any way try NFU fuly comp + glas etc 600gbp and i am polish ( aparently thats meters)
I've used Sky, Adrian Flux and Swinton. No problems with them knowing a VR4 (even manuals!) or any modifications(which can be a bit tricky, as no two vr4's seem to have the exact same spec, or is that just me?). If you have got any obvious mods, tell or you will be 'in it' if you, (or any one else) need to claim. I always change insurers each year. I've noticed they almost always give huge discounts to get your bussiness, then load the second year hoping you won't be bothered to move. Swinton did my cover £200 cheaper than Sky (for renewal)-with the same cover with the same insurers!! (less commission taken).
Well I did some ringing around, as my renewal is here and going out for the first.
3 choices
Admiral fully comp £995, but after checking turns out to be £1122 all in over 10 months which works out a ridiculous amount of money per month
Adrian Flux TPFT again at £825, no setup fees, 0 excess, unlimited mileage, free european cover aswell
Sky Insurance £775 TPFT, same as last year, but I think there is a £250 excess and no european cover, which I do need this year.
not bad for someone who is 21
.
Another recommendation for Sky, good price with all mods declared.. Will shop around again this year though..
also do make sure it gets classed a VR4, as others have said and that it is a grey import.
Most of our TPFT policies do come with 90days european car cover, drop me a PM if you'd like this clarified.Originally Posted by pitslayer
