    Thumbs up Nurburgring, Easter 2010

OK, let's get a new thread going shall we ...

Now, usually we go at Easter as that's the first time you get the track open for four days in a row ... but Easter is very early in the year next year (Good Friday is 2nd April) and there is a good chance of snow. I guess Lee would know how likely it is.

So, the Easter trip may be slightly later ... perhaps late April or some time in May. Let's just get the interested parties for now ...

    Interested Parties:

1). Wayne & Kate (White Lightning & Kate) Booked Plan A
2). Mike (miller) Booked Plan A
    3). Kev (steelie600)
    4). Tommie (Kiteman)
    5). John (Nutter_John)
    6). Nev & Amy (elnevio & Mrs B)
7). Pete, Shaz & Conor (Spirit & Missbitchy) Booked Plan A
    8). Brendan (gallvr4) Booked Plan A
9). Andy & Debz (The Vee) Booked Plan A
10.) Lee, Heidi & Sophie (Beastlee)
    11.) Paul (K9NG) Booked
    12.) Simon Booked

    Maybe:

Ross, Shelly, Liam, Jade & Ciaran (CrossRoss)

    PLAN A:

1: Weds 31st March - stay at the Premier Inn (Dover East) - rooms £57
    2: Norfolkine Ferry - depart Thurs 1st April 8am, return Tues 6th April 4.01pm - £52 return + £8 fuel surcharge + card fee
3: Rent a guesthouse at The Lindner Ferienpark from 1st April to 6th April - full details of this accomodation are in this POST

Would prefer during the two weeks following Easter, or the first week in June (BH week), due to school term-time commitments.

Have put my name down, but will depend on dates.......similar to Nev. Conor's school no longer allow any holiday outside of normal school holiday dates.

Also, we need to consider events going on at the F1 complex as I feel this has a major knock on effect on how busy the Nordschliffe is. Sort of, I'm here so may as well do a couple of laps etc

Good point, Pete. That certainly appeared evident last weekend.

The trip last week worked out like so...

Meet at Dover the night before. Then get the ferry to Dunkirque at 8am (which is a 2 hour ride). Once on the mainland, a straight drive through part of France, Belgium and into Germany. It worked out about 4.5 - 5 hours of driving from the ferry port to Nurburg. Obviously you need to factor in your travel time this side of the channel. Factor in your fuel costs too.

Driving on the mainland is pretty easy. Just gotta remember to pull into lanes on the right when you get to junctions. It comes easy enough very quickly

Maybe but want to combine it with Spa (if it's still open! - Spa's operating licence revoked until 2026) or other circuits

    10.) Lee, Heidi & Sophie (VR4 and Delica )

Snow normally comes in a little earlier but it's not unknown to suffer some at the start of April. If we bring the Delica we can still all go round LOL

Yes we had no probs with the snow. They had the track clear everyday about lunch time and we even had the F1 circuit although that was probably just a bit of luck. The nice thing was (for us) hardly anybody else was there!

Only one consideration - Japfest is normally our biggest show and is normally mid May. The actual date has not been released yet, AFAIK.
