ok went out yesterday to see my bro and upon leaving had a bit of wheel spin as you do in the snow but only from the rear wheels. is this a normal thing to do with the ayc or do i have a problem going on with the 4wd???.
thanks tonka.

The four wheel drive system is discribed as 50/50 split front and rear, however most drivers on here seem to feel it is more a 60/40 splity in favour of the rear wheels......... I have found that in the snow I can easily get the arse end to swing out, this gives the feeling the front wheels are planted and the rear is spinning........ AYC only splits power between the rear wheels (Left to right rather than front and back)......... I would say that you are experiencing the same as anyone else, if you have any issues with the AYC system usually you will have a red AYC bar illuminated..............
I was able to get all four wheels spinning yesterday in the snow............

thanks for that. that was what i was thinking.

I had front and rears spinning in the station carpark on Thursday trying to reverse into a space.
We have three diffs on the VR4, only one of them is clever. So it is perfectly possible to spin some wheels and not others, then same as most other cars on the road. It's certainly not a sign that anything is wrong.
