Yes Mike - you can take them off the wheels and reverse them - that means they will now sit on the other side of the car - all the inside edges become outside edges.

I've had 451's in the past, and if I don't get a bargain on my next set, they will be 452's. In the last 7 sets of tyres on two cars, the Falkens and GSD3's are the only tyres I would buy again.

Just pricing up a new set of boots for the 'Ring trip.
I think it's a choice between FK452s (again) or F1 asymmetrics for me.

    Camskills latest pricing:
    FALKEN FK 452 - 225/45R17 94Y XL TL £68.50 inc VAT ea = £274.00 (for 4)
GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC - 225/45R17 94Y XL TL inc VAT ea =
    £353.04 (for 4)

    plus fitting obviously.

So, an extra £79.04 for the asymmetrics ... however, I have heard rumours they are difficult to get hold of at the moment.

Given that I may well have to shell out for some new lower suspension arms soon ... it may well be 452s again for me.

Interesting, think mine will all need replacing after the ring. Have been a great fan of the T1rs but looking at a price difference of £160 for all four and the good reports on here I may try a set of Falkens next time.

Planning on getting some 452's on my speedlines before japfest. Wonder how they will compare to the potenza re050a's that are on my e8s at the moment

I've just fitted a set of Falken FK452s to the Leggie (215/40/17). I have these tyres on all of my cars and I think for the price they are excellent. Used FK451s previously and loved them too.

Those are quite a bit smaller than the standard size of 225/50/16's. In fact 27mm smaller (4.28%). The ideal size for 17's is 225/45/17 (only 3mm difference)

As Pete states those Tyres are way to small..
Your Speedo will be reading 5% fast and that also means your Odo will clock up mileage 5% faster. And added wear on bearings and tyres etc.

The space above the tyre to wheel are must look huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge as well ??

    Hey Andy,

I'm a bit of a Toyo TR1 fan myself too, how many miles did yours last?

Mark, this is going to sound daft, but I really don't know!! I don't think they are the longest lasting tyre by any means, but the car doesn't do an awful lot of miles now except for a few long distance trips in this country and 2 or 3 trips to the ring every year. I honestly wouldn't like to guess, but with the use they get they're not unreasonable. They certainly survive a years worth as described above but I would think without the ring trips then perhaps they might last some time. I did notice that the last time I did Castle Combe with this brand, they didn't do that beading up on the edge of the tread like the F1s used to. Sorry I cant be more specific.

I really really hope you didn't put 215/40/17's on a Legnum! Who on earth recommended that size?
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

Hi everyone.I know ,that the perfect way iss to have 4 same tires on all wheels. But two of my eagles f1 are about to finish, and I wonder to put those falkens 452 on the back ,and left f1 made in china on the front . I'm not thinking of any track days ,or anything similar ,just normal daily use.

    cheers

I, personally, can't see the long-term logic in this. If you're getting reasonably even tyre wear now then you're always going to be in a position where two tyres are good and two are not in the future: as they are now.
Presuming your Eagles were all put on at the same time then if your car is eating front tyres it might be worthwhile determining why and sorting that out before getting any more on there or you'll always be in this position of having to prematurely change the fronts.
If you've just bought the car then perhaps ask the seller when the Eagles were put on and if it was all four or if they just did what you're thinking of; get some idea of any work done on the steering etc so you have a bit of background info on the potential for the car to munch tyres.

Mixing tyres is not the best solution. If the rolling radius is close, then you will get away with it.

My car wears tyres slightly faster on the front than the rear. Every six months or so I swap them front to back, to keep the wear even.

As aready stated, it's not best practice to mix tyres. I would swap all 4. And with 452's this isn't gonna bust the bank. Keep the 2 good tyres ur taking off as spares in case of e
    emergency.
