    Smile Greetings from finland

    Hello!

I'm 24 yers old guy from south finland. I owned mitsubishi lancer 1.6 GLXI -93 for about five yers and now own Legnum VR-4 facelift -99 I joind your club and find very useful information about legnum.

My interest for cars started from very young age. Specialy for the engines. i have few projects cars now. Mostly of my car has been Opel. First in my heart is my opel calibra 4x4 turbo. I built the engine all ower and the drivetrain. Bigger turbo is fitten and all most everiting has been changed. Here is link for photos of my calibra and few legnum pics

And one video from last year summer.

But now back to my legnum. Now I have '99 Pearl white VR-4 Legnum tiptronic and it is awesome It is wery usefull car now in winter. But my power steering pump is broken. On idle it dosen't help at all when i rev up about 1500rpm it works agean. But i makes not so nice noises I changed the fluids and the belt, but it didin't help. So i think i need a new pump, but i can't get one from here finland. If someone can help with the problem i would be happy.

I have surfed your forums and it must be the friendly and useful forum i newer joined

    Hey Antti welcome aboard!

Were you doing donuts/heli's when the pump went? For some reason ours dont like full power on full lock and just blow the pump.

There are a number of breakers on here who i assume will be along within a couple of hours with the pump you need!

    Cheers

    Mike

How did you now I tried to do donuts in the snow, but on one moment the stearing hit the full lock and the belt skwiiks. After day or two the stearing went hard. Should i put a message sale/wanted section.

    Hi & welcome to CVR4.

There are a few members on here that have broke the pump doing donuts.
The mighty Leedsnum has gone but the Airtrek mods will soon fill this space

The problem is solved I put powersteering pump from calibra to the legnum. I drild on hole to the support iron that holds the pump and litle modifying + some bushing. The belt is the same as calibra and bolts were in same place. Now the stearin forks perfectly and there should be no broblems doing donuts any moore. Calibras pump have the ower pressure walve so the pressure in the system won,t get too high. And you can find these pumps from any scrap yard If people are interested i can write a articel about it.

Sorry form my english write. They are allmost straight from dictionary

Your English is fine - we can understand it!

Very interesting about the Calibra pump fitting, especially if it a better pump. Any pictures?

And glad you got it fixed!

    Yeah!
Do the article about Calibra's PAS pump. But bear in mind that you did convert a FL Legnum (different pump fittings) so whilst writing article don't forget to put as much detailed pictures that may help owners (majority here) of PFLs doing their conversions

    And...
    Ex: Galant VR4

    Now: Lancer Evolution 8 FQ-300
Running 325 HP ATW and 510 Nm torque at 1.6 bar

I have few pics off the pump, but i think i take it of next weekend and i check that every thing is ok. Then i take more pictures. I think i have to test doing donuts with this pump and see if it pops out

Yep here is wery snowy And more is coming soon. Thanx to four wheel drive Is there in england exceptionally plenty of snow this year

Calibras angel eyes are purchase from germany. I find one net store that sels angel eyes for Galant/Legnum. Here http://depoautolights.com/headlights...7ab02a452e5105

Opel have used this pump on many models. C20NE, C20XE, C20LET and i'm nit sure if they use the same pump on X20XEV. The same pump can be found on 1.8 liter engines too.
