    7201 Mapped Ecu's - 9 available

well after many many many long months of testing we are now ready to put on sale our remapped 7201 ecu's . At the moment we have 9 available and they will only be for sale Next weekend at the Rolling road day . (another day will be arranged in Scotland )

The ecu's have had the fuel cut moved to just under 1 bar and should not hit you unless you really are boost very quickly with your duty cycle . The speed limiter hsa been removed . Rev limit has been kept to the stock value . Boost control via the stock ecu gives you a peek boost of 1.1 bar upto 4500 and then tails off to around 0.8 bar at 7000 rpm .

From the tests we have conducted the current version we have has given us a very good gain on a stock car . We went from 241 bhp atf to 295 atf and torque went from 225lb/ft to 325 lb/ft

Price for this batch will be £250 fitted , but we will give you a trade in on your old ecu of £100 .

Just to ensure that you get the best out of the new ecu we strongly recommend that you provide us with some dyno plots prior to purchaing so we can confirm that your not running lean due to fuel pump or FPR issues . To this end I have spoke to Ben and he has been fantastic in that if you want to have a before and after plot on the dyno day then he will do 3 power runs as standard to which we will review the plots etc , then we will installed the new ecu and for an extra £15 Ben will give to you an extra 3 power runs ( this a great offer by Ben as he could have charged for a full extra session - top bloke !!!!! ) .

Ok so if you want to buy one then please PM me confirming that you would like to purchase , but by all means do ask any questions on this thread

Pardon my ignorance, but may I ask how I know if this ECU will be a direct replacement for my current one or not? Also, no other modifications are required? My only other concern is the boost, from what I have read on here 1.1bar seems like a lot, although I appreciate that it drops to 0.8bar is this not likely to have any long term detrimental effects to my turbos?

My car is a 1999 imported saloon if this helps with ECU compatibility at all.

    Very interested though.

    Many thanks

Yours is almost certainly a 7202 ECU, which can be tuned via someone adept with ECUFlash and knowledgeable about VR-4s! Although that is still a fledgling area too. Some relevant tuners, or indeed John, should be able to tell you though.

Your ecu is a 7202/7203 which is mappable without the need for our one .

the 1 bar safe things is related to fuel cut and fueling beyond 1 bar , we have remapped the ecu and moved fuel cut .

Remember that a few people have run 1.2 bar on vr4 engines with no issues , Gowf was flowing more than twice the airflow on his one with no issues .

Will it damage your turbos ? , good question you will be running them at close to there limits but this does not mean it is safe , the other option is to not up the boost and keep the car stock . Honestly I would say any mod that ups the levels of performance will have a risk factor to the life cycle of the car

I see. Thanks for the info.

Well I'd say that the results you have achieved far more than outweigh any potential risk Great job.

One more question though, as my ECU is already mappable do you know where I can get mine mapped similarly to how yours is? Or is there a trusty member on here that would be able to do so for me? I have never really looked in to modifying cars before and have certainly never had an ECU mapped before so I apologise if I'm asking 'common knowledge' questions.

    Thanks for the help.

iirc to do a full remap on the 7202 Ben charges around £350 + vat and would need the car for a few days as he will do the tunning on the road and on the dyno , Atik has his done by Ben and got a nice 300 / 350 ft/lbs

One thing I have forgotten to say and this is in very big letters

    NO MBC'S ARE SUPPOORTED

This is because we have upped the stock boost to 1.1 bar and having a MBC in there would run at a lot higher boost than is safe

If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

I've got one with EMU, one with 7203 and two with 7202...

But yeah, I guess that I'll buy much more then one - there're more cars on the way...

Yes we have tweaked the map on 99 ron with the fuel being leaned out a little to allow more power to be released , timing is fairly stock based with only minor trims
