First Legnum VR4 pre facelift model

    Hi there,
we have just purchased a Legnum. Beautiful car to drive, but have a couple of questions.

    1) Key Fob replacement battery.
Can anyone tell me what the battery number is for this standard Legnum key fob. Ours does not have an old batter in it.

    2) TCL keeps switching off.

    3) Engine light on dash seems to come on, shortly before or after the TCL light appears.

    Thanks
    Steve

    hello amd welcome

no 1 .dont know will have to have a look

No 2 and 3 are related .is a common fault check and clean the TCL plugs first ,if not probably tcl solonoids need replacing mine did it nothing to worry about and an easy fix. pull the error code will probably be error 72 and 77 .

The TCL problem could also be the vacuum canister which is a grey cylinder on the firewall. They tend to start leaking over time.
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

Oh, & when you look at the error code the last pair of numbers refer to the section number & page number of the Japanese service manuals where the diagnostic flowcharts for that problem are. The manuals can be found in the members area.

That is very true, but it is a necessary evil petrol. Without it you go nowhere

@Kitty, thanks for the information onthe battery, just a quick one, yes another of millions more to come I am sure. Does the remote take 1 ro 2 of these little CR1616? It works a treat but feels as if you need to really press very hard...

    Thanks

    Steve,

1 x CR1616 only..... The button itself may be a little worn, though I found mine improved out of sight when I cleaned the contacts carefully.... (button & battery contacts)
