    Galant Parts

Hi all, its been a while since I have been on the forums mainly due to my new lifestyle (marriage ).

Okay so I have a Galant V6 Sport which I recently took to the stealers for a service and it came back with a long list of things that need doing and the quote came to heavty bill; so am looking to get the fix-up in a cheaper way by locating the parts and taking it to an independent garage. I would appreciate if anyone could advice me where I can parts for the following and answer some of the questions I have regarding each item/point:

Both rear shock absorbers: I found some on ebay and motorsport; should I go for the mitsibushi brand or an aftermarket one like KYB etc

Off side front top swivel ball joint: where to buy?

Both off side lower ball loints: where to buy?

Oil leak from behind timing belt covers: any idea what this might be?

    Many thanks in advance

Mitsubishi standard shocks are made by KYB.

Not sure if the top ball joint is available seperately to the wishbone? You may need to buy the whole upper wishbone assembly.

Lower arms - any motor factors, or camskill.co.uk There is a straight one and a curved one. I'd thoroughly recommend you buy a genuine mitsubishi straight one.

Oil leak behind the timing covers could be anything from simple to awkward. rocker cover gasket would be nicest, with crank or cam seals being much more awkward as they would involve timing belt removal.

Nick Mann you are a top man! Many thanks for your quick response.

Just looking at Camskill now, please forgive my ignorance, are these the wishbones?

And are these the correct straight lower arms?

    Many thanks

Nev - pretty sure that all those arms are the same. If it were my car, I'd be buying those parts.
