LOL, Go Jason! It's annoying because they have clearly managed to decipher the databases by fair means or foul and i doubt Mitsubishi would have been happy to divulge such info. It would work fine for scraping all the VR4 data as we know what valid chassis numbers to apply but I want the same thing for at least two other vehicles and it seems mad to do that when I have all the data sat here already, just in a non standard database!

BTW No reply to my message to the dealer, may try calling him and see what he can do to help.

Was fiddling with this a bit today and noticed for post may 2000 facelift Legnums there are only three interior codes, 65J, 65E and 75J. 65J is the normal grey seats, 65E is beige leather and 75J are Recaro's. The Type V's have a different code because they have a different steering wheel, but the pattern is the same, they are 66J, 66E and 76J.

This means it is quite easy to tell how many are made with recaro's, leather and normal seats.

    65J 854 (323 manual)
    65E 87 (9 manual)
    75J 193 (71 manual)
    66J 162
    66E 9
    76J 7

Of 75J, which in my opinion is the best VR-4 ever (facelift manual Legnum with suede Recaro's) we have these paint colours

    A69 (silver) 1
    T07 (indigo) 7
    T08 (trigger) 13
    W75 (white) 34
    X08 (black) 19

Of all of these, the option codes are actually a very similar pattern.
    40 moonroof
    48
    140
    148
    348
    440 moonroof
    448 moonroof
    740
    748
    B40
    B48
    C40 moonroof
    C48 moonroof
    D48 moonroof
    E40 moonroof
    E48 moonroof
    V40
    V48

If you look, the numbers 4, 8 and 0 feature prominately. I guessed 148 will be the same as 048 but with cold spec because 000 is no options and 100 is no options plus cold spec. Mine (which is a 98 facelift) has option 441 which isn't represented in that list, however I guessed that because mine has a moonroof, that options 440 and 448 would have one too and I was right 040 also has a moonroof, but 048 doesnt, which surprises me slightly! 140 and 148 don't have a moonroof either.

Now that we know that, we can tell how many facelift manual Legnums with suede recaro's had a moonroof. That number is 33. Of those, 1 is silver, 3 are Indigo, 6 are Trigger, 14 are White and 9 are Black
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

Final note, of the ones without recaros, NONE of them have a 4 in the middle, ie x4x A lot of the codes present in the non-recaro ones are very similar to the recaro cars, such as 400, 408, c00, c08 and d08 for example. As such I would guess those codes to be the same but without Recaro's. I haven't tested those yet though and as we can see from 040 and 048 compared to 440 and 448, things may not always line up perfectly.

Brad can you break down how you are getting this data out of ASA, or are you getting it from somewhere else?

how can you tell how many of a particular type are made.

    Bye for Now!

    Update!

Created 2 more tables at the bottom, one lists all the Super VR-4s ever made, one lists all the COTY VR-4s ever made, both ordered by chassis number.

If you've got one of the above cars, find the row number that it's on and deduct one, so if you have a Super VR-4 on row 359, you have #358 out of the 369 that were built (according to CAPS, there are rumours of far more not on the CAPS / ASA database).

Hi Paul, your car has a standard interior trim and paint code, but it has an option code (manufacturer optional accessories) of C00 which we have no information for.

    Please can you outline every detail about your car? We already know it's a Meister blue tip-tronic auto Legnum with AYC with the standard pub carpet interior trim. Anything more than that would be handy;

    Examples of what we need to know are (all these relate to how it left the factory, not what aftermarket mods have been added);

    Moonroof?
    Center console trim colour?
    Steering wheel type?
    Roof rails?
    Tinted glass?
    Cold Spec?
    Parking Sensors?
    Traction control?
    High-Vis dashboard?
    MMCS?
    CD Changer?
Stealth tailgate? (doesn't broadcast the make / model of the car)
    Alloys?
    Car mats?
    Rear wiper?
    Cruise control?
    Parking pole?

In essense, every minor detail that makes your car unique.

Possibly the only former owner of Black Legnum VR4 with Manual shift & Moonroof who now owns a Hamilton Silver Galant.
