Cheers Glenn. I think i will go for them, half the price of Mitsi ones. Got one weeping slightly, but cant detect loss of damping yet, only a matter of time i suppose. I like to catch things in the bud before it gets urgent. Preventative maintenance always a good idea i reckon. Thanks again bud.

Go for KYB ultra SR series, like those http://www.kyb-europe.com/shocks-ultra-sr.html
Standard KYB shocks for Galant/Legnum is made in factory in Czech Republic and unfortunately lost some of they Japanese quality (ppl from mitsumaniaki.pl complain widely about quality and durability), ULTRA SR is still made in Japan, hence is still got the original KYB reliability.

Yes, ordered them today Jamil. I dont do spanners anymore, getting to old and achy, unless it's simple bits like adjusting the mirror or something. I have two good mechanic mates who have been looking after my various cars over the last 25 years or so. My patience run very short if it doesn't go right first time, so they can bloody do it and have the problems. Will try and get pictures though, and try to work out how to post them on here. Cheers.

    Unhappy

Camskill E-mailed me yesterday and told me 2-4 weeks delivery for the ultra sr's, sounds like something a woman would use. Like i said in an earlier post, do it before it gets urgent.

Bumping this up from the dead, nobody confirmed whether the Ultra SR's fit and how well they worked? I need to get all new 4 shocks for the Leggy but I'm mostly getting non-VR options. Should I just go with the 351029/351030? On KYB's website it says "Manufacturer's address: Germany", for both types of KYB shocks. So I don't know how relevant the thing about CZ republic is?

EDIT: Found the last pair of front KYB 351029 Ultra SRs here and they are stamped "Made in Japan" with lovely welds and solid build quality (on first glance). The rears 351030 will arrive next week so that's when I will be installing them with the current springs (green, factory). Ride height from ground to center of wheel arch is 667cm at the rear and 666cm at the front. It's fairly slammed for stock suspension... I will provide updates on the Ultra SRs once I have fitted them.

31.10.2021: Fitted the Ultra SRs (351029 + 351030) with success! Ride height remained unchanged, but ride quality was definitely improved. It feels rather comfy in the straights and activates different damper rates in corners. Front pair was 87 quid and rears were 155 in my local currency. I noticed that the ones already on the leggy; the rears were OEM "Mitsubishi" shocks whereas the fronts were KYB stamped and had green Tein springs which is why the front sits just as low as the rear.

So for anyone looking in the future; the Kayaba Ultra SR are a great replacement!
