could you not just have another made by going to an auto locksmiths ? would be easier and cheaper.
google replacement car keys and loads come up in uk search. cant see why that would be any different in germany.
No VR-4s were equipped with immobiliser-chipped keys from the factory. So, you can put a set of locks from a different VR-4 (or possibly another Mitsubishi?) without a problem.
This also means that once you have a key again, you only need to get additional keys cut - they don't need 'programming' to the car. The only thing that won't work will be the remote central locking on the standard key (if you had it or used it). An after-market alarm usually operates the remote central locking anyway, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Why not become a full member of CVR4 and enjoy the additional benefits membership brings?! Information here.
The problem is that I did not know who the key
therefore I must change everything.
If you can open the drivers door, remove the door lining and the drivers door lock barrel, the code for the key is stamped on the drivers lock barrel, it will be Exxxx where the x's are numbers. Phone around until you find a locksmith that can cut keys to code, give them the code and get a perfect key cut. They cost about $15 a pop here in NZ including the blank.
If yu can read the code n the lock barrel, you can have a replacement key from any mitsubishi dealer. It will cost around 20 eur per key from the dealer.

Many thanks for the helpers answers.
VR4 riders from Germany to have wondered at Mitsubishi
with the code for new keys
They wanted € 140-180 for
Car is not locked and is in the garage
So I will now dismantle first lock cylinder
and see if I can read the code
the standard one built into the key?
