    Question Greeting From Taranaki, NZ

Hey there CVR4 members! its great to be online!

i have recently purchased a 92 E84A with 6A12 TT motor. as far as i can see everything is still stock on it. (with exception to after market BoV and K&N mas and filter)

every new thing to learn i have come to this forum. and now its time to post

i've been in the prosess of painting it. daily freight red ( bright ).

    Then...

i had to take it to work for a couple of days, got to my work mates house stopped the car and waited.
he came out, jumped in and HELLO, car wouldn't start.

i hard wired the fuel pump to check it and it works but wont pump when the car is on

i also noticed that there's no spark and the fuel pump relay isnt operating...

    sound familiar???

i dont really want to pay for computer diagnosis, (quoted around $75 )

so. am i right in assuming that no fuel and no spark means no ECU?
note: the check engine light has never come on.

    thanks in advance
    khryss

Fuses need to be worth a check. Does the car have an immobiliser fitted?

and I hope you get it running soon.

no immobilizer that i know. the guy i got it from said he took 1 out of it.

i've checked the fuses and they're all sweet.

can any1 explain where the crank angle and cam angle sensors are and what the might look like
as i've heard that if faulty can contribute to no fuel no spark issues

also im working on deciphering error codes but its a bit of a hassle as im new to the whole computer controlled engine thing.

thats awesome to hear.. was disappointed i couldn't help out there.

with the temps, all i hae done is use a thick radiator core. my intake still gets hot.. and in between runs i leave my bonnet open untill i get to the end of the lanes. some times i have a misting bottle handy but dont let the officials see you spraying because they might stop you racing due to dropping fluids on the track. but yep they sure do get hot. even now it still does.

thats a relief to hear. i've done a radiator flush and put in 70\30 antifreeze\boil next i guess is to get some premium motor oil.

did wraping you mani help with engine temp?

do you think an engine flush is worth it or just a filter change.. lol

personally i flush and oil+filter change, every... EVERY 5000kms... and i wraped my exhaust only because i didnt want to melt anything.. it runs real close to alot of parts so although im sure it did make a differance, because i have nothing covering the exhaust housing im not sure the overall setup is running cooler under the hood.. the engine/water temps are always below half (by a bit) unless i do burnouts and it skyrockets straight away to over half way on the gauge.. then gos close to red in afew more seconds.. but i pretty much have no cooling fan on it.
