If it is any further help to anyone when I checked the unit in my car which was built April/May 2000 and registered Jan 2002 it was a Cobra 6422 model.

Nice one for posting this up, Chris. Years ago a member whose user name was Bring posted these instructions up and even knowing that it takes a long time to find them. Hopefully with your search terms above it will be easier!
