    ower injector seals leakng boost

Ok so just been outside and done a boost leak test and found all the lower injector seals leaking!! Is camskill the best place to get them from?

When fitting do people normally put a small amount of general purpose grease on them?

Want to get these sorted so when I increase the boost slightly I'm not over working the turbos (to much :-))

    Cheers all.

In general on any rubber seals and orings I use silicon grease, allows seal to be located correctly.

There are 2 seals & 1 spacer on each injector, from miti dealer
    Lower seal£2 ish
Middle spacer (called sheet) £3 ish
    Top o-ring £4 ish

Be careful when you remove the fuel rail, the injector might pull out of the fuel rail rather than pulling out of the inlet manifold. If so fuel will spray all over the place.
The middle spacer governs how much force is applied to the top and lower seal to make them a tight fit. If the middle spacer when new has been squashed in place and over time, may have compressed a bit, then with age it has shrunk like most rubber/plastic bit does, so the fit now is a bit slak which could be why your are leaking. So just replacing he lower seal might not fix your issue.

By the way my injector lower seals all leak when doing a boost leak test, and most cars I have done a boost leak test on have leaked also.

    Bye for Now!

So do you normally not worry about the leak on the injectors??

I always release the pressure elsewhere safely before removing any fuel rail but thank for the caution note :-)

Is the spacer simply a nylon ring. I'm thinking I could save some money by just making some up. If I can do that and the put new lower seals on I'm thinking that would be better than nothing. As I don't really want to pend £60 or more on replacing all 3 parts on a 6 injectors lol

Petrol normally will vapourise so just undo 2 bolts of the fueal presure regulator and empty fuel rail, it's obvious there will be some fuel.
Top injector rubber orings can be reused but I would suggest to use silicon grease on em before putting all back together.
I reckon that bottom seals, the same as lexus uses, are not the best solution cause over long period of time they get harder and loss their properties, definitelly can't be reused same as rubber orings used by most of the car manufacturers.
