I'm running the FK453's and I really like them. I've done around 3 months on them so far and they are wearing nice and evenly and have good grip in wet and dry. Every bit as good as the FK452's which I used to run.

Why not become a full member of CVR4 and enjoy the additional benefits membership brings?! Information here.
running 453's on the Evo as road tyres and they grip fantastic, and are pretty decent in the wet until of course you hit an oil slick whilst being pressured by a bright red Fezza!

Still here somewhere........
Wow, well held that man. You keep the foot in all the way through?
i have been running the Faulkin 453's for a while and had them at the club sprint day. They work well as road tyres for sure. Unfortunatle my dodgy tracking has destroyed the fronts (like brand new except for the inner edges showing canvas). So getting some Toyo T1-r fitted all round tomorrow, should be run in by the time I arrive at the ring on Monday.

It wasn't until I had ordered them that I was told the sidewalls are a touch "compliant".
They are for the Galoon, so hopefully they will work beter than if fitted to the Leggie. Had wanted R888's instead but couldn't afford them, plus couldn't see the point of getting them if I will be getting new wheels soon.
What problems did you encounter Garry? Appart from soft sidewalls and high wear.
On my Prelude (1280kg), they wore out in about 6k miles.
On the V6 Galant (1280kg), they wore out in about 5k miles.
Like the Falken 452, they're very much an upper-mid range tyre, but unlike the Falkens, I didn't actually even find them that great, either. There was little feedback through the steering wheel, and the tyrewalls were just too soft.
I can see that on a smaller, lighter car, they would be quite good, the softer sidewalls will give a bit better feedback than a harder sidewall.
So what us good mid range tyre lir legnum?
The more research I do the more confused I'm.
I got ~16k out of a set of FK-452's (including a track day at Castle Combe a few days before replacing them), and about the same from a set of Hankook Ventus V12 Evo (which had done another track day and a couple of air-field days)
I preferred the Hankook, so much so that I've put them on again.
If I were looking to jump up to an Ultra High Performance tyre, then it'd be stepping up to the like of the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2, or Continental ContiSport Contact 5.
I've got the toyos on mine at the moment. They do get squirmy when pressing on, although the only time I have really noticed was at the club sprint. I want Goodyear directionals but they are tricky to find.
Hi All, does anybody know what the correct load and speed rating is for the standard 205 55 R16. As I've found various answers around the net and my owners manual only lists 15" wheels. I believe it should be load 91, speed W. But the car I've just brought was fitted with some nasty Nexen tires, which are only V rated and the side walls really balloon out. So I wanted to check what everyone else recommends, as I'll be replacing them soon and I'm not sure if it's the budget design of the tyre causing the ballooning or if the load rating is too low. Tyre pressures are correct, as per the sticker in the door jam.
Also anyone tried Bridgestone RE002 Potenza Adrenalin tyres, as they look pretty good and I've found a local stockist who can supply and fit all four, for £260 all in, which I thought was pretty good for a top brand tyre like this. I know the RE002 is an older tyre now, but I only do a few thousand miles a year so what ever I get will be out of date by the time I next come to replace them.
Thanks All
Carl
