Currently on my car is this facelift autobox. It is a OWC one without external filter but does have the four plugs, i.e. including the separate speed sensor used all the way from first PFL to midway through FL.
This box is a late 1999 model, and comes with the matching ECU.
The day before it went into my car, it was still in the original donor VR-4 and running perfectly.
I have only used Amsoil ATF in it and done about 7,000 miles since it went in. It previously had Amsoil ATF in it, which was probably used for a few years so it has been using Amsoil ATF for a good few years now.
The engine and box both had about 83,000 miles on them when they went into my car, so the box has now done approximately 90,000 miles.
The problem for me is that it just doesn't seem to work correctly in early PFL cars, like mine. I've documented the issues before, but the issues are lack of hill-descent control in D and inconsistent changes. I already have a facelift 7203 engine ECU, so it seems that the only real way of getting it to work in my car would be to also change the AYC/ASC ECU, but this also means changing the loom, it would seem, and I don't want to start splicing into that, especially as it may not actually solve the problem.
So this means that you have the opportunity to purchase a facelift autobox with relatively low mileage, known to be in good working order, that hasn't spent any time sat around out of a vehicle as yet.
All things going to plan, it will be available after 10 May 2013.
Looking for £200, but willing to listen to offers. Delivery may be possible through the CVR4 network, but collected would probably be best. If we sort something out prior to it being removed, it may be collectable from Nick Mann, if he is agreeable, of course!
