    Full list of engine codes update

    Hi guys while crawling the Internet I stumbled across this in a post on another mitzi site (I apologise if it was a member I've ripped this from) however it's the best list of codes I've seen so thought I would share


    Diagnostic Connector / OBDII port

    Diagnostic codes allow us to see any errors the ECU has logged without connecting up an MUT-II diagnostic computer or a laptop with EVO Scan. All you need is a paper clip or similar piece of conductive wire, follow the procedure below to put the car in diagnostic mode, and then check the error codes you see against the list provided.



    The connector looks this shape, and this is the pin configuration:


    With the iginition on, but engine NOT running - ground Pin 1 to Pin 4 of the diagnostic/OBDII Port (using a bit of wire or paper clip) which is located by your left knee up under the dash on drivers side. You will then get the engine light, N of the trans, ABS, TCL and ASC (if you have them) flashing.

    To read the codes it will be a series of long then short flashes, ie the TCL light flashing _ _ _ _ *pause*. . . . . indicates code 45 (if you get what I mean) There will be a very long pause between each code if you have more than one error code.





    When you see (for example 1A) error codes with numbers and letters, these are HEXADECIMAL values. We count in groups of "10" (Base 10) whereas electronic components tend to count in lots of "16" (Base 16), otherwise known as HEXADECIMAL.

    Lol yea looks the same

    I found it while tearing what's left of my hair out I've got codes

    77 TCL and engine 72 I've changed the solenoids and canister and all the hoses still same codes

    Also an annoying abs fault on rear drivers side ring or sensor (just pulled the fuse for now)

    And really picking my head is my ayc problem

    On start up the white letters and the 3 bars light but no red light, when driving no lights at all, I've checked both the fuses but all seems ok

    I though I know what to do next so I thought check all other pipes and just found a big dint possible crack in my inter cooler

    That is a bummer about intercooler, but i don't think that will the error codes.

    Did you swap the solenoids for new ones or second hand one as the replacement could be dodgy. Same applies to the grey vacuum canister.

    As for the no red AYC light I would have thought the bulb has been taken out to hide something like a non working AYC pump, which would stop the green bars lighting up when driving.
    Easiest way to check this is to remove the dash display. 2 screws at the top of the Shroud steering lowered pull out shroud watch the dimmer switch. Then there should be 4 screws to take dash display out.
    Check the bulbs.

    Yea mate checked all bulbs in place I swapped the battery bulb over and still nowt :s

    If the plug was pulled on this would the green lights still light on engine start but the ayc be inactive??

    I don't think that the green lights would come on at all on start up with the ayc ecu disconnected but I don't know for sure.

    hi there I just did this and ABS light was giving me codes they are 13, 14 ,32 but I am looking for engine codes how to swich to engine light to show codes becouse my problem it is not from this sensors which codes show
    13,14 RR wheel speed sensor (Short or Break)
    32 32 G-sensor system around
    the problem is after I start the car whe push the gas pedal slowly it goes up to 2-3k rpm and goes down but I AM STEEL pushinng the pedal it goes up and down the car is undrivible I did chenge fuel filter first, now I am wating for Ignition Coils to come becouse the midle one the body is craked I hope this to be the problem but I do not thik so ,the sparks are new 2.3 mounts, cables are magnesor 85 they are ok, if it not the ignition coils I am in troble if some body has other IDEAS will be greate the maf sensor apears to be good I check itwith multimetr

    All codes from all the available light flashing are active at the same time. If there was a recorded engine code it would be flashed up at the same time as the abs code.

    Easy wAy to see if ignition coil is breaking down is to spray the coil packs with water from a spray bottle. If the coil pack doesn't give visible breakdown when the water is sprayed. The coil pack is good.
    It is easier to see the breakdown at night.
    I can spray all of my current coil packs and they is no sparking at all.
    I tested my spare coil packs a few days ago one at a time on my car and 5 out of my 7 spares broke down. 2 of my coil packs on my car were breaking down so I no longer have any spares.
    I am thinking of putting an insulating covering over the faulty coil pack and see if the makes them work.
    I will come with a conformal coating used in the PCB fabrication industry to combat unwanted discharge.
    I design PCB for a living, and I can't see why it would not help the coil pack work.
    All you are doing is making sure the required spark occurs where you want it to. If the coil pack is sparking in a place you do not want it to it means the coil pack is working and is sparking as it should do. It is just in the wrong place. An insulating coating should make the coil pack work.

    thanks Dave my midle coil is sparking from the body thanks to your waY with the spray water I bought one coil (shud be 3 of them )from australiq it is not cheep but it is wort it but the problem with stalling it is there again and I did find the problem , IT was the MAF REPLACE IT with evo 4 MAF and now drive perficly now I have to find where to send the old for reciclation any info ?
    thans for your advise.Now I am happy to drive it again this car is got under my skin if it is not allright I am not to DEVIL car.
