I think I will have a go at this who is best to contact about buying shares and what is the minimum amount ?

John... I use my bank, Halifax, so instant access to current acc & shares acc. transfer is instantaneous with 15 minute updates, so.... total control.

I did look at BT !!! they reminded me of bottom feeding fish in the sea !! wallowing along aimlessly ! the last purposel spike in decent profit was 1999 !! in fact.... down around 25% in past 12 months !

Think SXX is available through most high street banks as they are a FTSE250 company meaning they are available outside of the shares market.
I use Hargreaves Lansdown for all my shares. Pretty decent service however their fees are £12 per transaction each way (buy/sell). But I've set up SXX as a monthly savings account which costs £1.50 per transaction.

The key to successful share dealing is diversification. Holding too many shares in one company exposes you to more risk.

Only invest money you can afford to lose and do your homework before buying.

Remember the value of share can go down as well as up.

Thanks i inherited the BT shares at one point they were worth as much as new VR4 but then they dropped and have carried on

I did buy a few summit a couple of weeks ago, but..... not the results I was hoping for so sold them at a small loss. The major presentation by the CEO in Boston, USA was all talk & no substance...… back to square one !!

BUT..………….. here's another one for you. COPL on LSE,[Canadian over ] but you'd better be quick !! I bought yesterday around 100,000 shares @ 0.56p. news is imenant ! RNS this morning confirmed positivity.

Later price prediction is 2p - 5p ! & that could happen VERY soon !!

I was a mountain to climb on for Esme....Alyssa lost a loose tooth.... [she pulled it out !! ] Ava took everything in her stride , including helping me find them when they went AWOL !! [ thank goodness for kind neighbours LOL ]
My cleaner will have her work cut out on Monday..... probably more money !!

I'm out of therapy now...… doctor says I should make a full recovery LOL
