What tool for the head bolts? Going to tool shop in a minute

Hi Just taking the heads off this afternoon, I am dropping past the tool shop on the way to my unit where the car is being worked on. Ned to know what tool the head bolts are i.e. allen/hex 8mm etc or torx t?? etc as if I don't have the right one I want to buy it on the way.

    Kind regards
    Dom

I think it is a relatively standard socket. 12 sided 14mm?

Looks like the evo ones are 12mm however is a 12 point socket just a normal bi hex socket or is it a special tool with a slightly different shape?

It's been a long time since I took a head off, but I'm sure I did it with tools I already owned and I don't own any head bolt specific special tools. Sorry I can't be more specific!

head bolt do look like a male torx head
the standard multi pointed sockets fit perfectly they are the ones that grip the tips of the standard 6 sided bolt heads reather than the stronger sockets that actually grip the 6 sides of the bolt head.
    if that makes sense.
and yes the sockets are effectively an equivalent of a feamale torx head.

    Bye for Now!

Ladies and gents I can 100% clarify that the correct head bolt tool is a 10mm bi-hex (normal) socket. Yes 10mm, seems small doesn't it but that is what it is. Fits perfectly.
