builiding N/A v6 sohc to DOHC

my wife is driving a galant saloon GDI 2.4L with vr4 facelift exterieur(its called here in holland the "motion")
200 silver and 200 dark blue are delivered here in holland
it was working fine all these years but a few mounths ago the gearbox is making some noise.
and now the engine is not running that fine any more.

    so i whant more.
i'm rebuilding a vr4 engine for that car, but its going very slowly.
    so had a other idea.
to take a N/A engine and place the vr4 heads on it.
i check everything and it will fit.

so i''m now doing a totall rebuilding on the heads, and if thats done i'm going to place them on the N/A v6 engine that i have.
i have a lot of photo of the rebuild.
    will place them tonight.

interesting build. I am looking forward to the result and the power figures. Not quiet sure, what will change with the engine characteristics if it now has quad-cams....
the one and only...Pearl White Legnum 25 ST-R...registered in Germany - now featuring a 6A13TT engine (unless you know otherwise)

So there are no differences in oil and coolant routing throught the heads on SOHC and DOHC?

Which inlet manifold you are going to use? I would think the V6 N/A schould be used at is was designed for vacuum applications (while the VR4 design is for pressurized applications)

    checked it also.
i think the vr4 manifolds are nicer then the N/A manifolds.
will try that first and if that doesnt work i can change it.
and will use the N/A trottle body

From memory, the NA inlet manifold (bunch of bananas), is different to the VR4 one due to the slightly different size of the heads (and the space between them), so you will have to use the vr4 inlet manifold. However, I believe either plenum will bolt up to either inlet manifold.

SOHC to DOHC on 6a13 short block problem are
    1. Timing Belt Fitment
    2. Combustion system
    3. Wiring Related, ECU etc.

Will give you a headache, not to mention money spent. Better fully swap to full VR4 or 6g72 mivec, 2500 cc DOHC

you should get the heads and block skimmed a mm or so each to raise compression. because using the turbo heads on the N/A block your compression ratio will be piss poor.

If you can get the CR up to something respectable like 11:1 or higher you may actually make some power.

Also do you plan on getting some slick extractors made up? because using the stock turbo manifolds would be a terrible option for a N/A engine
