Hello all,

New user here in Cardiff South Wales. Looking to buy a Legnum in the near future. Thought I'd Join and get some knowledge before I buy. Currently driving a 407bhp Mitsubishi GTO but missing the ease of driving my Tiptronic Honda Prelude used to give so used to the type of engine and the highly technical side of mitsubishi cars.

Yeah I saw that one but only been looking for a couple of days so not 100% sure what I'm looking at yet. Want to make sure I'm getting top spec car with all the toys as that's one of the things I enjoy about the Mitsubishi's. Got a bit fed up of the GTO its very VERY quick at over 400bhp but is a pain to drive around central Cardiff as the clutch is so snappy. I can walk to work at present so won't be a daily driver, in fact the GTO has only done 2000 in the last year.

I would hope that you will get a more honest appraisal of a car being sold on here. The history of the cars is often posted up here, try searching for posts by Gingerfish.

Yes sometimes that can work but didn't when I bought the GTO the previous owner had been very careful to not write any of the problems in the forum and so a little while after I had the car oroblems started to come to light. Been looking around and not in any rush.

Couple of Newb questions I Couldnt find the answer to on the search function what's the difference between PFL and FL please ??

And Also what sort of power and torque are you guys running ?? I'm not gong to be pushing the Legnum as hard as the GTO but a little concerned 280bhp is gonna feel a little slow ?!?! If it was 320bhp then I dint think I'd worry !! The GTO had all its work done in Eurospec so might have a chat with Ben as well as I see he works in them !!

Still havent been in a Legnum yet so that's the next plan ??!!

Welcome to CVR4.

You won't find any real problems posted up about my car as I havn't really had any. The biggest one I had recently was the MAF sensor which was solved with a replacement.
Spec isn't an issue as the only higher spec model from mine AFAIK is the COTY (Car Of The Year) version that had leather seats.

The current mods are mostly cosmetic, but power shouldn't be too much of an issue as all the hard work for prepping the car such as exhaust, boost controller etc. is done so it's an excellent base car. All she needs is FMIC kit, uprated fuel pump, SLIGHTLY more boost and an ecu tweak and she'll be giving you around the 300 mark.

Many thanks, Yeah I assume that the process for upping the power is similar to the GTO as they are similar engines.

If the GTO spews out another clutch I'll strip the turbos, front mount and injectors of that and fit them to a Legnum

Hi Geraint.
I live in Dinas powys, only a couple of miles away. I recently purchased a legnum and am very happy with it.
I also owned a Prelude in the past, a 98 2.2 vti manual which was a good balance of comfort and power .I have owned non turbo v6 Galants for the last couple of years which had great looks but not quite enough power and so always looked back to the Preludes power.
The auto legnum has got all that comfort plus more room, plus the extra power when you need it. Since owning the Legnum I have found myself driving again for the pleasure.
If I hadn't bought mine a couple of weeks ago I would certainly have considered the Legnum being sold by Gingerfish as it has already some of the upgrades fitted which aren't that easy to come by.

non of that is bolt on, turbos require alot of custom work to fit, the gto injectors are lo imp? the legnum use's hi imp,
the front mount should be easy enough to fit, as long as its no thicker than 76mm more than that requires cutting bending and trimming.

Certainly did, my last one was a PFL with a moon roof.

They all had aircon/climate control -so just look for one advertised with a sun/moonroof
