I believe you are correct as the original bolt only threads into the caliper itself.
This is probably why they have used a larger bolt for the bracket to hub carrier joint.
It would be nice to know if it is required for definite, and weather this can be done on the car, if not then it would not really be any more hassel to change the hub carrier over if it is coming off anyway for tapping.

My car is pretty much broken down to its component pieces anyway, so its no big deal.

or just put a nut on the back of the hub carrier instead of tapping a thread and having to use a larger bolt

That was my initial thoughts. I think RaceFab may have done it this due to lack of space for a but, thanks to the caliper 'ears' being in the way. Easy to test though.

I've gone back and remeasured the pcd of the FL hub carrier mounting bolts and found I got it a little wrong. With the new measurement (which is still not overly accurate), the calipers are pushed out further than the RaceFab ones.

if the facelift hub carrier pushes the caliper mounting bolt further out than the racefab bracket will, then there is no way a 330mm disk will fit with the racefab brackets.
the 320mm disk will only just fit under the caliper on the facelift hub carrier.

well that what i believe, as i have 320mm disks and the fit is perfect.

Sorry, I meant that my new measurements mean that MY adapter was pushed out further than the RaceFab one as I originally expected (given they say there's is for 320mm and I'm making mine for 350mm).

ah i see what you you are saying scott.
    that make sense.
hoever i still don't see ho the racefab brackets can be for 320mm and 330mm as there will be 5mm difference in disk edge relative to the edge of the pad once the caliper is mounted.

Yeah. I agree with you. It looks to me like there's would best suit 340mm rotors.

I got some even more accurate measurements last night, and the caliper has been pushed out even further. I'm pretty confident now that the RaceFab ones are designed for 320mm rotors.

I think he would have had a few complaints about them if they didn't and withdrawn them from sale.

I haven't got much further with this.

The RVR is currently sporting new Super Blue fluid and Carbotech pads. Should do for the Ring trip! Would have been nice to have done the Brembo upgrade in time for it, but there you go. I did track it at Castle Combe with just Red Stuffs, and prior to that, Mallory Park on totally stock brakes, so I should be good around the Green Hell.

Yeah, I was just initially confused that my adapter looked the same as theirs. Turns out I'm just not great at measuring things.

I'll try and remember to post a pic of mine tonight.

This is roughly what my adapter for the Evo X 350mm calipers will look like.

I've still not done this, and now I'm looking at Charlie's Trigger Mauve Brembos for the VR-4! I might have to see if they fit the VR-4 and order another set for the RVR.

Then let's see how this plan is going in another two years' time, lol

Also, looking at the seventh picture in part III of the Brembo conversion article, you can see the side-by-side comparison between FL & PFL and you can see the FL caliper bolt fitment holes do seem to be further out from the centre of rotation, not just further apart from each other.

I am willing to bet that these Racefab brackets will do the job.

if you looking for a pair of brembo front calipers i have some set or two or three in varying states of paintwork, but i will to check them over to ensure the seal are ok and pistons are free moving.
they are not in perfect condition and would benefit from being painted, i would have to get some pictures and that sort of thing, but if you are not in desperate rush i can get something sorted out.

I like Charlie's because they are the right colour and already refurbed. It isn't something essential right now though.

It would however be nice to ascertain whether these adapters do the trick as it will reduce the amount of work and probable cost required for others wishing to do a PFL Brembo conversion.

My procrastination knows no bounds. Can't believe I have had these brackets for over two years!

January looks the likely time for the Fridge upgrade. Unlikely to manage much messing about before then.
