How much do one of these cost?

So how much does a thermostat housing cost? I may have broken mine by doing the bolt (closest to the firewall) up a bit tight, as there was a crack sound when I tightened it up.

Which is resulting in water and coolant leaking out around that area.

Also is the tridon thermostat TT281-180 the right one for our cars? Looks a little smaller to the original one.

What a pig of a thing to try get out, still havent got it out yet. F**k nothing is ever easy on these cars.

I got mine out, Im bloody stumped now. Theres no cracks but it was leaking

The middle tube/cylinder going to the block, the lip is ****ed, so the o-ring probably wasnt sitting right making it leak? But what I dont understand is why would it leak now after taking the thermostat out.

Hah, bloody hell. The new thermostat didnt have a seal so thats why it was leaking. So took the old one off the old thermostat and I was away laughing.

What a pain that was, I had pulled apart enough of the car to stand in the engine bay haha

So she's all good now

I call that central coolant tubing the octopus... and yes it is a complete pig to get out. Worst design IMO.
