So are you a dealer who took the car in p/ex, or a private owner who sold a car and took the vr-4 as part of the deal because you liked it...?

Not certain if your are a keen owner as you stated that you were told it was rare and could be worth a bit...

Its not rare, its the poverty spec car without AYC or high vis dash. Its also got the Jap MMCS system which isn't particularly popular amongst owners.

'97 Manual Legnum in silver with some subtle mods

My first VR4 - '97 Legnum Dark Green & mean ...it was love at first sight - now sold

£1850 is a decent price for what seems to be a low mileage clean example. That's not to say that it would sell for £3000 easily, these cars have a very niche fanbase.

Keep it.... enjoy it... track it !
As a dealer , there's not much profit in it

Rare ?? Not really. Worth more in spares.

There is nothing wrong a poverty spec car. It doesnt have AYC but some people might argue that is not necessarily a bad thing. If you want a car without AYC then its fine.

At the end of the day, a car is worth only what a buyer is willing to pay.

And I'd argue it is actually rare. There are probably more 'regular' spec cars out there which in turn makes this rare. In fact, maybe one of a handful of Type V cars in the UK, compared to the dozens of usual Type S cars.

    Hi and welcome,
Personally I don't think you will get 3k for it but the longer you keep it and the more miles. you put on it the less the value will be. If you keep it as is for 20 years it might be classified as a classic by then an be worth something more.

But In the current climate I would say you could get 2k for it. But that is just my opinion.

As everyone else says it is worth what someone will pay you for it at time of sale.

    Bye for Now!

OK, so it may be rare, but it wont ever be worth a bit.

VR4's are old thirsty cars which cost quite a lot to service regularly, cost a lot to modify if you want more power and are not worth very much.

We on here know this and love our cars despite these facts.

I have a tiptronic vr4 legnum pre face lift (I don't like the tail end of the newer shape) I drive quite a distance daily for work etc and it only costs me $50 a week at $2.20 a little of premium . It's tows well . Picks up well . Handles well and it is a good all rounder . I like it as a toy . But when the time comes it will make a suitable family Wagon . And as I'm a tradie it's also very useful for work . 2nd one I own and other then trying to maneuver it around a right car park (turning lock like a whale) I love my car all over . Mind you two pairs of sound stream 6" and twin 10"s booming in the back . I truly enjoy every single time I drive it
